    Abstract: A communication device, including a wireless interface including a transceiver unit, and a controller configured to control the transceiver unit when applying a first protocol which is a Bluetooth Low Energy protocol and a second protocol which is suitable for exchanging both audio data and non-audio data. The controller is further configured to apply a first control configuration while the transceiver unit is not used for audio data reception and/or transmission of audio data via the second protocol, and to apply a second control configuration while the transceiver unit is used for audio data reception and/or transmission of audio data via the second protocol. In the second control configuration duration of BLE connection events is limited to a maximum duration shorter than the maximum duration of BLE connection events in the first control configuration.

    Abstract: There is provided a clip-on microphone assembly comprising a clip-on mechanism (16) for attaching the microphone assembly (10) to the cloths of a user (11); at least three microphones (20, 21, 22) for capturing audio signals from the user's voice, the microphones defining a microphone plane; an acceleration sensor (32) for generating an orientation signal by sensing gravitational acceleration in at least two orthogonal dimensions, an audio signal processing unit (34) for producing an output audio signal (36) from the captured audio signals, comprising a beamformer unit (24) for processing the captured audio signals, in order to generate the output audio signal, in a manner so as to create an acoustic beam having a direction, a DOA unit (30) for determining the direction of arrival of sound by analyzing the captured audio signals; and a control unit (26) for controlling the beamforming unit, the control unit being adapted to determine an allowed angular sector (40) of the direction of the acoustic beam according to the orientation signal and to steer the direction of the acoustic beam within the allowed angular sector according to the determined direction of arrival.

    Abstract: A communication system maintains a signal processing license within a memory of the communication system. The signal processing license allows the communication system to perform a license-enabled signal processing function on signals received from one or more devices external to the communication system while the signal processing license is maintained within the memory. As such, the communication system detects that an additional communication system is within a transfer range of the communication system, and, in response, performs a transfer operation in which the signal processing license is transferred from the communication system to the additional communication system such that the signal processing license is no longer maintained within the memory once the transfer operation is completely performed. Consequently, subsequent to the transfer operation, the additional communication system is enabled to perform the license-enabled signal processing function while the communication system is prevented from performing the license-enabled signal processing function.
