Abstract: A liquid crystal display device including a first substrate, a first alignment layer provided on the first substrate, a second substrate facing the first substrate, a second alignment layer provided on the second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer provided between the first substrate and the second substrate and including liquid crystal molecules is provided. Each of the first alignment layer and the second alignment layer includes a base alignment layer, and an alignment forming layer provided on the base alignment layer, and the alignment forming layer comprises a derivative of a heat stabilizer and an alignment material comprising first functional group which is polymerized to initially align the liquid crystal molecules.
