Abstract: An electronic device may include: a plurality of antenna modules; a communication circuit connected to the plurality of antenna modules; and at least one processor configured to: receive a first message from a first base station, which is a serving base station of the electronic device; identify, from among the plurality of antenna modules, a first antenna module for forming a first reception beam; identify, from among the plurality of antenna modules, a second antenna module for forming a second reception beam; and perform handover from the first base station to a second base station on the basis of transmitting a second message including first information for indicating the quality of at least one first signal through the first reception beam and second information for indicating the quality of at least one second signal through the second reception beam.

Abstract: In an electronic device and/or an operating method of the electronic device, the electronic device may include first and second antenna modules, and a communication processor. The communication processor may be configured to receive, from a cellular network, a measurement configuration (e.g., measConfig) related to measurement of a quality of a signal having a first frequency band and measurement of a quality of a signal having a second frequency band, to measure the quality of the signal having the first frequency band by using the first antenna module and the second antenna module, to select one antenna module among the first antenna module and the second antenna module, based on the results of the measurement, to transmit, to the cellular network, a measurement report including the quality of the signal having the first frequency band, which has been measured by a selected antenna module, when the quality of the signal having the first frequency band, which has been measured by the selected antenna module, satisfies a condition included in the measurement configuration, and to transmit, to the cellular network, a measurement report including the quality of the signal having the second frequency band, which has been measured by an unselected antenna module, when the quality of the signal having the second frequency band, which has been measured by the unselected antenna module, satisfies the condition included in the measurement configuration. In addition, various other embodiments are possible.

Abstract: An electronic device according to various embodiments comprises: a memory and at least one communication processor, the at least one communication processor configured to: confirm a plurality of specified measurement objects (MOs) for measuring the downlink performance of a second communication network, while connected to a first base station of a first communication network; confirm measurement priorities of the plurality of specified MOs based at least on information relating to the transmission/reception performance of signals having a frequency corresponding to the respective plurality of MOs and stored in the memory; measure the reception signal strength with respect to at least one MO from a signal transmitted from a second base station of the second communication network, based on the measurement priorities of the plurality of MOs; and control the electronic device to transmit at least one measurement report (MR) to the first base station of the first communication network, on the basis of the measurement result of the reception signal strength with respect to the at least one MO.

Abstract: Disclosed is a pre-5G or 5G communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond 4G communication system such as LTE. The first RSRP value is measured from a first reference signal of a serving cell, and the second RSRP value is measured from a second reference signal of a neighboring cell.
