摘要： An air suction device is provided with an air suction system having at least one capacity-enlarged portion, a compression pump compressing air in synchronization with operation of an engine, a compression air control unit, and a vibration plate which is vibration-excited by air compressed by the compression pump and disposed in a connection passage connecting a discharge side of the compression pump with the capacity-enlarged portion. The compression air control unit controls the phase and amplitude of a pressure variation of compression air discharged from the compression pump, to provide compression air with the pressure variation having the phase opposite to a pressure variation of suction air sucked into the engine.

摘要： An air-intake apparatus includes an inner pipe member and an outer pipe member. The inner pipe member defines an intake passage that connects an inlet and a surge tank. Air is drawn into the inlet. A diameter of the inner pipe member gradually increases when the inner pipe member extends toward a surge tank-side end portion of the inner pipe member. The outer pipe member covers an outer circumferential side of the inner pipe member and defines a resonator between the outer pipe member and the inner pipe member. The resonator communicates with the intake passage.

摘要： A noise silencer for reducing noise in an intake passage in an intake system has a parabolic portion for collecting noise, a noise accumulation room communicating with the intake passage through a communication passage and a noise discharge pipe communicating with an outside space. A noise collection valve is provided in the communication passage. When sound pressure in the intake passage is positive, i.e., larger than pressure inside the noise accumulation room, the noise collection valve opens the communication passage. As a result, a positive sound pressure portion of low-frequency noise is collected into the noise accumulation room and is discharged outside the intake system. Thus, the noise silencer effectively reduces low-frequency noise in the intake passage and requires less mounting space.

摘要： Fuel supply devices for an engine are disposed within an intake duct located upstream of an air cleaner. Thus, the fuel supply devices such as fuel injection valves and a fuel supply pipe are always cooled by intake air flow while the engine is being driven. In addition, heat conducted from the engine to the fuel supply device can be insulated by the intake duct when the engine is stopped. Further, since the intake duct located upstream of the air cleaner does not dispose functional parts such as a filter therein, a high degree of freedom for mounting the intake duct on the engine is maintained so that the intake duct can be easily disposed at the position where the fuel supply devices are located.

摘要： A vehicle presence notification apparatus notifies a presence of a vehicle by providing easily-perceivable and less uncomfortable notification sound outside of the vehicle. The vehicle presence notification apparatus includes: a speaker and a controller. The controller is configured to cause the speaker to generate the notification sound that simultaneously has (i) at least one fundamental high frequency, which is easily perceivable, but annoying to human ears; and (ii) at least one auxiliary low frequency, which is less than the at least one fundamental high frequency and has a harmonic relation with the at least one fundamental high frequency.
