The surface of the pressure roller is coated with a PFA resin and has an average surface roughness Ra of 0.05 to 0.13 μm. A thermister is provided to detect the surface temperature of the pressure roller. The thermister includes a metal plate, a resister element attached to the metal plate, and a pair of fluorocarbon-resin films sandwiching the metal plate and the resister element. The fluorocarbon-resin film has a thickness of 15 μm to 80 μm.

The surface of the pressure roller is coated with a PFA resin and has an average surface roughness Ra of 0.05 to 0.13 μm. A thermister is provided to detect the surface temperature of the pressure roller.     摘要: A disclosed fixing device includes: a heat roller unit having a rotatable roller having an elastic body on a surface thereof and a heating unit heating the roller; a pad disposed along a circumference of the elastic body of the heat roller; a belt member disposed on a curved surface of the pad, the belt member rotating by following a rotation of the heat roller; and a pressure member pressing the belt member to the heat roller using the pad, the fixing device causing a conveyed recording medium carrying a visualized image to pass through a space between the heat roller and the pressure member so as to fix the visualized image on the recording medium, wherein a curvature of the curved surface of the pad is changed in a central portion and end portions in an axial direction of the heat roller.

Further, a deodorizing device having a suction fan and a catalyst filter, at least the surface of which has a catalyst of metal oxide, is provided above the fixing device, the deodorizing device promoting reaction of ozone generated at the charging device and the charge extinguishing device with offensive substances containing mercaptan and further decomposing the ozone and the offensive substances, wherein exhaust gas containing the decomposed ozone and offensive substances is expelled in a direction opposite to the direction of the arrangement of the photoconductor and the developing device.

    摘要: A mechanism for guiding a recording medium into a nip formed between a first rotary member subjected to heating, and a second rotary member pressed against the first rotary member includes a guide member and a biasing member. The guide member is disposed upstream from the nip to guide the recording medium therealong. The biasing member is connected to the guide member to mechanically bias the guide member. The guide member is subjected to a constant biasing force from the biasing member and to a pressure force from the recording medium. The pressure force is opposite the biasing force and variable with a stiffness of the recording medium being guided. The guide member is movable to different operational positions depending on the biasing and pressure forces acting thereon.

The guide member is disposed upstream from the nip to guide the recording medium therealong. The biasing member is connected to the guide member to mechanically bias the guide member.
