Abstract: Methods and systems for performing contextual configuration of an imaging scanner are disclosed. An example method includes an imaging scanner capturing an image of an object and providing the image to a trained neural network for classification. Configuration settings corresponding to the particular classification are determined, where those configuration settings are for operating the imaging scanner and are contextual to the object being scanned. The imaging scanner is configured based on the configuration settings, and the object is re-scanned under optimal configuration, for improved barcode reading or defect detection for machine vision systems.
