Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods, systems, and devices for recovering a recovery integrated access backhaul-node (IAB-node) for new radio (NR) from an initial IAB-donor-central unit (CU) to a new IAB-donor-CU and/or configuring a F1 connection between an IAB-node and an IAB-donor-CU. One method includes retrieving, by the new IAB-donor-CU from the initial IAB-donor-CU, context information; and configuring a connection with the recovery IAB-node. Another method includes sending, by the new IAB-donor-CU to the initial IAB-donor-CU, a request for retrieving user equipment (UE) context; and receiving, by the new IAB-donor-CU from the initial IAB-donor-CU, a response for retrieving UE context. Another method includes receiving, by the new IAB-donor-CU from the recovery IAB-DU, a first message to initiate a first F1 procedure; sending, by the new IAB-donor-CU to the recovery IAB-DU, a second message to indicate whether the first F1 procedure is successful.
