Abstract: An intra-oral device for positioning oral tissues during medical treatment, for example, radiation treatment. The device includes upper and lower dental arch members configured to engage the maxillary and mandibular teeth or edentulous arch(es) of a patient, respectively. Moldable material is maintained within channels formed in the dental arch members by partially extruding the material through keyways formed in the arch members during the bite mold process. The upper and lower dental arch members are operatively coupled to provide a dental arch assembly. A protective element to displace or depress a patients tongue is secured at a suitable working position with respect to the dental arch assembly via a threaded strut adjustably coupled between the protective element and a support structure disposed between the dental arch members.

Abstract: An x-ray irradiation system includes a first x-ray tube constructed and arranged to be able to irradiate an object with at least a portion of a first x-ray beam emitted from the first x-ray tube, and a second x-ray tube constructed and arranged to be able to irradiate the object with at least a portion of a second x-ray beam emitted from said second x-ray tube simultaneously with said first x-ray beam. The first and second x-ray tubes are arranged such that the first and second x-ray beams are incident on, and intersect within, the object at respective first and second oblique angles to define a target volume such that a dose rate is substantially uniform as prescribed within said target volume.

Abstract: A neutron-capture therapy system includes a charged particle beam generation unit, a beam transmission unit and a neutron beam generation unit. The charged particle beam generation unit includes an ion source and an accelerator. The accelerator accelerates charged particles generated by the ion source, so as to obtain a charged particle beam of the required energy. The neutron beam generation unit includes a target, a beam shaping body and a collimator. The charged particle beam irradiates onto the target through the beam transmission unit to generate neutrons, which sequentially pass through the beam shaping body and the collimator to form a neutron beam for therapy. The neutron-capture therapy system is accommodated in a concrete building including an irradiation room, an accelerator chamber and a beam transmission chamber. The neutron beam generation unit is at least partially accommodated in a partition wall of the irradiation chamber and the beam transmission chamber.

Abstract: A neutron capture therapy system includes a neutron beam generating unit, an irradiation room configured to irradiate an irradiated body with a neutron beam, a preparation room configured to implement preparation work required to irradiate the irradiated body with the neutron beam, and an auxiliary positioner disposed in the irradiation room and/or the preparation room. The irradiation room includes a first shielding wall, a collimator is disposed on the first shielding wall for emitting the neutron beam, the neutron beam is emitted from the collimator and defines a neutron beam axis. The auxiliary positioner includes a laser emitter that emits a laser beam to position the irradiated body. Wherein the position of the laser emitter is selectable. Therefore, the irradiated body can be positioned in any case to implement precise irradiation.

Abstract: An ophthalmic radiation device having a substantially light-transparent wand configured to emit light propagating through the wand light from a series of illumination ports at least partially circumscribing a radioactive source disposed in the holder, thereby providing a visual reference for identifying a position of the radioactive source. Embodiments are directed at effectively directing light from a light source through the body of the wand to illumination ports by using the wand body itself as the light guide. The illumination ports are used as reference points by a medical practitioner to facilitate placing the device into a correct treatment position.
