摘要： A mirror mounting assembly for attaching a mirror mounting bar to a vehicle includes a bracket for attachment to the vehicle and a connector for attachment to the mounting bar. A first detent piece is non-rotatably mounted to the bracket and includes a contact surface defining alternating radial grooves and ridges, the first detent piece also including at least one shoulder. A second detent piece is non-rotatably mounted to the connector and includes a contact surface defining alternating radial grooves and ridges, the contact surface of the second detent piece contacting the contact surface of the first detent piece, the grooves and ridges of each of the first and second detent pieces matingly engageable with the ridges and grooves of the other of the first and second detent pieces in at least two orientations, the second detent piece also including at least one stop for contacting the shoulder of the first detent piece to preclude relative rotational movement between the first detent piece and the second detent piece in a given rotational direction. A spring-loaded axle extends through the bracket, the connector, the first detent piece, and the second detent piece for urging together the first detent piece and the second detent piece.

The end, close to the vehicle, of the arm is inserted directly as a pivoting pin in a pivot bearing opening of the bracket, a bearing bush being placed in between for the formation of a plastics-metal bearing combination, and the bearing bush having an annular projection, which is provided with locking teeth meshing with mating teeth on the bearing bush.

Consequently, it is possible to install the clutch mechanism at a side of follower of a large diameter gear and to increase a design allowance of clutch holding torque. In addition, a height of a bracket case is made shorten, design flexibility of stay attachment to the car body. Increasing an interior space of the bracket case increases design allowance of size and arrangement of the constitutional parts of the mirror simplifying the attachment.

Said second part has a first abutment engaging the first spring end portion so as to deflect the first spring end portion in a spring winding direction when the second part in moved angularly relative to the first part in one direction from the neutral position, and the second part has a second abutment engaging the second spring end portion so as to deflect the second spring end portion in a spring winding direction when the second part is moved angularly relative to the first part in the opposite direction from the neutral position.

摘要： The rear view mirror bracket support incorporates multiple detent positions. The inverted cup-like cover has opposed pairs of grooves inside the side walls of the cover. A moving bracket has one end fixed to the cover and carries the mirror. A molded spring member having arcuate, radially flexible, spring arms engageable with the grooves is connected to a fixed bracket through a retainer. The retainer and the spring have serrations which are engageable to prevent relative rotation between the spring and the retainer when a bolt passing through the cover and the spring member and the retainer is tightened. When the bolt is loosened the spring member can be moved relative to the retainer to set the initial operative detent position. Now the moving bracket can be moved to any one of a number of additional detented positions or can be moved to any intermediate position which will not be detented.
