Abstract:
A bail handle and containment case assembly, including a tray and closing lid, the bail handle including a portion that serves part of a latching function when in a first position over the lid and then serves part of a lifting function when pivoted off of the lid and moved into a second position.
Abstract:
A cigarette package includes a hinged cover including two opposite projections on front and rear walls respectively, a fixed inner casing including an oblique opening facing the hinge, a first shoulder at a lower edge of each of front and rear walls thereof, and two opposite cavities on the front and rear walls thereof respectively, a sliding cigarette insert block in the casing and including a hook extending from an underside, and a pivot mechanism secured to the cover and including a bottom plate connected to the hinge and extending into a space defined by the hook and the cigarette insert block, and a second shoulder at a top edge of each of front and rear walls thereof. Pivoting the cover to disengage the projections with the cavities will pivot the bottom plate to move the cigarette insert block upward until tabs of the second shoulders contact the first shoulders.
Abstract:
This invention concerns an aluminum alloy container and lid for transportation and handling of perishable products. It combines the ability to provide improved temperature control for the product, and in addition is reusable, nestable and recyclable. This container is comprised of two components, the box and the lid. The box is made from three separate pieces. The bottom and two sides are formed from the same piece of material. The two ends are formed separately and each are welded to the bottom and two sides. The lid is made from two separate pieces, the lid plate and the interface bracket. All parts are made of light aluminum alloy.
Abstract:
According to this process, a tubular metal body (10) of substantially polygonal cross-section is formed, delimiting lateral faces (12) of the package which are connected together by rounded corners (14). Then a radially projecting metal-expansion bead (18) is formed in proximity to a first end of the body (10) and in each of the corners of this body. The beads (18) are all substantially the same distance from this first end. Finally, a neck (20) and a flange (22) extending this neck are formed on the first end of the body (10), and a detached metal face (24) forming a bottom or a top of the package is seamed onto the flange (22).
Abstract:
A long-term storage container including a box-like titanium receptacle having a titanium primary cover and sealed by a seal ring of malleable precious metal clamped between the cover and the receptacle, with titanium/ceramic valves in the cover for use in exhausting air from the receptacle and replacing it with argon gas, with titanium/precious metal back-up plugs sealing the valves after the air has been replaced. A titanium secondary cover is bonded to the receptacle by a titanium weld, reinforces the seal by the primary cover, and has a cuttable integral metal wall for ease of opening, and an inner titanium container is disposed in the receptacle with elongated, resiliently flexible ribs in its walls engaging similar ribs on the adjacent walls to provide cushioning against crushing and shocks.
Abstract:
A carbonated beverage container and method of making it, includes a side and bottom wall body, which is generally rectangular in shape throughout its axial length. A smoothly tapered neck portion has a generally round top end and a generally rectangular bottom end, joined to the body. A generally round top wall having a closure device, is sealed to the top end of the tapered neck.
Abstract:
Apparatus for handling large rolls of paper or spools of wire including a pair of outwardly extending arms, supported by air bearings, which straddle the roll or reel along the axis in a lower hemisphere. The roll is lifted upon inflation of the bearing and transported to its desired location. The parallel arms are adjustable toward and away from each other to accommodate rolls of varying diameters and may include stabilizing members for use with a reel in the event the arms are not of a sufficient length to extend beneath both flanges.
Abstract:
A tote for storing and transporting lanterns and carrying same either lighted or unlighted within the closed tote. The tote has three perforated fixed sides and a hinged fourth side or door and a hinged cover which can be latched down over the door. The carrying handle is insulated from the remainder of the tote and storage space is provided below a removable false bottom member on which the lantern rests.
