摘要: According one embodiment, a millimeter-wave radiation imaging array includes a plurality of antenna elements configured to receive millimeter-wave radiative input. Each lenslet of a plurality of lenslets are coupled to one of the plurality of antenna elements such that no air exists between each lenslet and the one of the plurality of antenna elements. Each lenslet has a spherical portion being operable to direct the radiative input towards the one of the plurality of antenna elements. An energy detector is coupled to the plurality of antenna elements opposite the plurality of lenslets and operable to measure the radiative input received by the plurality of antenna elements.

摘要: A wireless power generating unit, includes, in part, a multitude of transmitting elements transmitting a multitude of RF signals to a wireless device, a backscatter RF receiver configured to receive the backscattered RF signal from the wireless device in response to the transmission of the RF signals, and a processor adapted to change the phases of the multitude of RF signals values in accordance with the strength of the received backscattered signal. The phases are changed to maximize the strength of the backscattered signal which may be modulated by varying a resistive load at the wireless device. The modulated backscattered signal may be encoded to carry information. The modulation frequency may be representative of the identity of the wireless device. The information may define the amount of RF power received by the wireless device.

摘要: An RF lens includes a multitude of radiators adapted to transmit radio frequency electromagnetic EM waves whose phases are modulated so as to concentrate the radiated power in a small volume of space in order to power an electronic device positioned in that space. Accordingly, the waves emitted by the radiators are caused to interfere constructively at that space. The multitude of radiators are optionally formed in a one-dimensional or two-dimensional array. The electromagnetic waves radiated by the radiators have the same frequency but variable amplitudes.

摘要: A base station performs the combination of digital precoding and analog beamforming. Transceiving antenna elements are classified into antenna groups. The analog beamformer includes branches corresponding to the antenna groups. Each branch includes sub-branches, and each sub-branch is connected to one antenna element. In self-calibration, after pilot signals are transmitted from antenna elements belonging to an antenna group and are received by antenna elements belonging to another antenna group, it is identifiable as to which antenna element transmitted each pilot signal. After pilot signals are received by antenna elements belonging to an antenna group, it is identifiable as to which antenna element received each pilot signal.
