Abstract: A smart ring includes a curved housing having a U-shape interior storing components including: a curved battery approximately conforming to the curved housing, a semi-flexible PCB approximately conforming to the curved housing and having mounted thereon: a motion sensor for generating motion data from physical perturbations of the smart ring, a memory for storing executable instructions, a transceiver for sending data to a client computer, a temperature sensor, and a processor for receiving motion data and performing executable instructions in response thereto, and a potting material disposed in the interior, forming an interior wall of the smart ring, wherein the potting material encapsulates the components and is substantially transparent to visible light, infrared light, and/or ultraviolet light.

Abstract: A method and device to collect and convert thermal energy from the surrounding environments to produce usable electric power. The device includes a rectenna that is preferably a narrow bandwidth rectenna. In an embodiment, the rectenna comprises a rectenna complex, which is, in sequence, a high gain antenna, optional matching circuits, an optional narrow bandpass filter, and one or more rectifying diodes. An embodiment may include multiple arrays of linked nanoscale rectenna complexes. When linked in arrays using preselected bandwidths in the infrared and near infrared spectral regions, the rectenna complex acts as a thermally responsive collector capable of extracting heat energy from its surrounding environment to produce usable electric power.

Abstract: An exoskeleton for installation of solar panels. The exoskeleton includes a central connection structure, at least one leg structure rotatably depending from the central connection structure. Each leg structure has a foot structure depending therefrom to contact a ground surface. At least one arm structure rotatably depends from the central connection structure. At least one solar panel holder depends from an arm structure and releasably holds a solar panel being supported by the arm structure. At least one limb actuator controllably provides forces to rotate the at least one leg structure and the at least one arm structure about the central connection structure to transfer forces from the respective arm supporting the solar panel to the ground surface through the at least one leg structure. A rotatably attached at least one auxiliary tool strut is movably positioned to operate beneath the solar panel as it is mounted onto a support.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for simultaneous water disinfection and electricity generation includes a disinfection section and an electricity generating section. In some cases, the disinfection section includes a storage tank and a plurality of transparent vacuum tubes. In addition, the electricity generating section includes a base plate and a plurality of photovoltaic cells. Water disinfection is performed by exposing the disinfection section to sunlight radiation. Electricity generation is carried out by exposing the electricity generating section to the sunlight passing through the plurality of transparent vacuum tubes of the disinfection section.
