The wireless communication system can receive pattern information of downlink subframes for a base station (BS)-to-the communication apparatus transmission as a bitmap; receive resource block (RB) information associated with a control channel for the BS-to-the communication apparatus transmission; receive the control channel from a fourth orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol of the downlink subframe n corresponding to a downlink subframe index n based on the RB information and the pattern information, the downlink subframe n comprising at least one downlink subframe other than downlink subframe 0, downlink subframe 4, downlink subframe 5 and downlink subframe 9; receive a data channel in the downlink subframe n; and transmit feedback information associated with the data channel to the BS via an uplink subframe for the communication apparatus-to-the BS transmission.

    摘要: A wireless repeater employing echo cancellation uses a non-linear element in digital baseband to compress the digital transmit signal waveform, thereby allowing distortions in the transmitter circuit as well as interference to be cancelled. In one embodiment, the repeater applies non-linear baseband compression to the digital transmit signal in the digital domain to reduce the peak-to-average amplitude of the digital transmit signal prior to digital-to-analog conversion and prior to over-the-air transmission and prior to sampling of the digital transmit signal for use as the reference signal for echo cancellation. The intentionally introduced non-linear distortion in the transmit signal improves echo cancellation and stability of the repeater. In one embodiment, the non-linear compression is applied only when the digital transmit signal is at or exceed a given power level or a given gain level.

    摘要: A wireless repeater has a receiving antenna for receiving an input signal and a transmitting antenna for transmitting an amplified signal where the input signal is a sum of a remote signal and a feedback signal. The repeater includes an echo canceller receiving the input signal and generating an echo cancelled signal by estimating a feedback channel between the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna and cancelling a feedback signal estimate from the input signal, an amplifier for amplifying the echo cancelled signal and providing the amplified signal to the transmitting antenna, and a variable delay element receiving the echo cancelled signal and introducing a first delay to the echo cancelled signal. The first delay is selected to optimize the estimation of the feedback channel, thereby optimizing the cancellation of the feedback signal. The delayed echo cancelled signal is coupled to the echo canceller as a reference signal for estimating the feedback channel.
