    摘要: Minerals are recovered from warm geothermal brines by installing a brine eductor device such as a venturi at the end of a thermally insulated drill casing. The geothermal brine is recovered by flowing a warm, low saline carrier solution at high flow rate through the device to pick up a selected flow of brine. On entering the device the geothermal brine is diluted in an amount sufficient to preclude precipitation and scaling as the mixture flows to the surface. The flow velocity is adequate to entrain any non-dissolved solids without settlement. Thermal losses to the surrounding strata are minimized by the thermal insulation surrounding the casing. The mineral values are recovered from the mixture by flashing, evaporation, and filtration. Clarified solution, filter liquor and make-up water as necessary are combined to form the low salinity carrier solution which is heated in heat exchangers before recycling to the eductor device. The heat exchange fluid may be heated by solar concentrators assisted by fossil fuel, geothermal and/or solar buffer stages.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for recovering HF catalyst from an alkylation unit acid stream containing acid soluble oil wherein a bottoms stream, which contains HF, acid soluble oils and a minor quantity of water, from an HF rerun column are processed. The bottoms mixture is cooled in a heat exchanger to a temperature sufficiently low so as to effect separation of HF from the acid soluble oil with the mixture then being passed to a separating vessel to allow the separation of the HF from the acid soluble oil due to the reduced mutual solubility. A gradient of HF concentration is effected within the separation vessel wherein an HF-rich acid soluble oil mixture is withdrawn as a stream separate from a substantially HF-free acid soluble oil portion which is also recovered as a separate stream.

    摘要: For purifying a liquid, the liquid is caused to evaporate in a cyclone in a recirculation circuit. Vapor is discharged via a discharge channel in which a compressor is included. In a heat exchanger downstream of the compressor, supplied vapor condenses and heat thereby released is transferred to liquid in the recirculation circuit. A liquid inlet of the cyclone is placed and directed for delivering a jet having a directional component tangential with respect to an inner surface of the cyclone. The liquid inlet has a section shaped such that in operation the delivered jet is a flat jet having a cross section which in a direction parallel to a nearest generatrix of the inner surface of the cyclone is greater than in a direction perpendicular thereto. The jet contacts the inner surface of the cyclone before drop formation occurs in the jet. A method for purifying a liquid is also described.

    摘要: The present group of inventions relates to processing of multi-component liquid mixtures (MCLM) employing reforming process, preferably for vacuum distillation of hydrocarbon mixtures and in petroleum refining and chemical industries. The inventions include the method for processing of multi-component liquid mixtures. The method of MCLM separation includes pressure feeding of a hydrocarbon liquid mixture to an a liquid-gas jet device nozzle which discharges to a vacuum chamber of liquid-gas jet device. A counter pressure jointly with the liquid-gas jet device forms a pressure surge in the vacuum chamber. The counter pressure is 0.4 to 0.7 of the magnitude of the feed pressure generated by the pump. The plant for MCLM processing includes a feed pump, a head delivery main, a discharge main, control instrumentation and a vacuum-generating device including a vacuum chamber, a liquid-gas jet device with a nozzle in the front end wall of the vacuum chamber. The length of the nozzle exceeds its diameter by a factor 7 to 10. The plant includes a counter pressure regulator connected through a conduit to the rear end wall of the vacuum chamber.

    摘要: Essence of the invention is a: a liquid, whose saturated vapour pressure is not less than the pressure at the top of a rectification column, is delivered into the nozzle of a liquid-gas jet apparatus as a motive liquid; the pressure maintained in a separator represents from 1.1 to 160 times the pressure of a vapor phase at the inlet of the liquid-gas jet apparatus; condensation of easy-condensable components of the vapor phase in the motive liquid and forming of a liquid-vapor mixture take place after mixing of the vapor phase with the motive liquid; the liquid-vapor mixture is separated in the separator into a compressed gaseous component and a liquid medium. The introduced method results in an increase in efficiency of a pumping-ejector system for the distillation of a liquid product.

    摘要: A low-pressure desalinization in a water chamber having an open end submerged in a water supply such as an ocean. An air exhaust pump draws air out of the water chamber to lower the surface tension of an upper stratum of water, which is thereby converted to vapor and subsequently condensed to nonsalinated water and collected in a U-shaped trap with a pair of sealing, closable valves. Moreover, a velocity enhancing parabolic channel is included for efficiently utilizing the potential energy of the fresh water. The fresh water is conveyed from its height at the top of the water chamber to a turbine via a velocity enhancement parabolic channel which enhances the velocity of the water for the turbine. The desalinator also includes a plurality of strips of sheeting partially immersed in the water being desalinated and drawing water therefrom via capillary action to increase the surface area of the water being subjected to the vacuum.

    摘要: A multi-stage flash evaporator is constructed so that the evaporator elements are dimpled plates mounted so that they extend horizontally. One, two, or more sets of plates may be mounted in each evaporator stage, the sets stacked upon one another in a tier arrangement. Each stage may be formed by a circular cross-section vessel, with I-beams--or like supports--extending horizontally at about the horizontal diameter of the vessel, and supporting the dimpled plates on them. A condensate collection trough is mounted below the dimpled plates and at the I-beams, the I-beams having openings in them through which condensate collected by the trough passes from one end of the vessel to the other. The hot liquid --such as sea water to be desalinated--to be evaporated is passed into a bottom chamber of each stage vessel, with vapor flowing upwardly through demistors and channels, into contact with the dimpled plates, and the condensate falling as a thin film down the plates and collecting in the condensate trough. The brine is preheated by passing it into the passageways within the dimpled plates counter to the direction of flow of the brine into and through the bottom chambers. The plates are preferably titanium or aluminum, but may be stainless steel if brackish water is distilled. A sacrificial anode may be mounted adjacent the plates.
