摘要： A clamp pad is provided for being selectively mounted to each jaw of a bar clamp assembly. The clamp pad can be easily mounted to the clamp jaw and radially locked in place with respect to the bar clamp assembly. In an embodiment of the invention, the clamp pad is configured to selectively be fit on either of the clamp jaws of the bar clamp assembly to facilitate assembly. The clamp pad defines a substantially increased clamping area to evenly distribute force and prevent damage to the associated workpiece. The increased dimensions of the clamp pad also stabilizes the bar clamp assembly, which eliminates tipping and thus eliminates the need for associated assemblies such as clamp saddles and the like.

A longitudinally facing abutment pad is carried on an outer end of the fixed arm. The corner has a circularly arcuate inner face joining the bar and arm inner faces, offset outward from planes lying on the bar and arm inner faces, and having a center of curvature substantially at a point where the planes meet. A movable arm can slide longitudinally along the bar and carries a tightening mechanism in turn carrying an abutment confronting the fixed-arm abutment and longitudinally displaceable relative to the movable arm toward and away from the fixed-arm abutment.

The device comprises a straight edge having a flat lower surface for contacting workpieces, an upper wall, and two sidewalls, a first stop fixed at one end of the edge, a second stop movably provided along the edge, and a clamp for holding the workpieces together. The walls of the edge define an open channel. The second stop has a body movably received in the channel of the edge and having a shape reverse to the shape of the channel of the base so that the body and the channel interlock. The upper wall of the base has one or more recesses, and the body of the second stop has mating projections so that the recesses and the projections interlock.

摘要： A universal tool is provided for clamping, spreading and jacking activity and comprises rectangular, tubular extension bar members, which are used independently or are interconnected to establish a desired tool length. The extension bar members have a plurality of spaced positioning holes located at top bottom and sides along its length to provide length adjustments. Jaw members are selectively attached to the extension bar for force transmitting engagement with a structure or device. A power head having a tubular bar is provided with spaced shoulder members which provide support for a threaded actuator rod extending between them. A head jaw is disposed in moveable guided relation with the rectangular extension bar of the power head and is moved by a drive nut type actuator member which is in threaded relation with the threaded actuator rod and has driving engagement with the head jaw. The actuator is selectively rotated on the threaded actuator rod for by a ratcheting box end wrench for application of spreading or clamping force to the head jaw. Spreading, jacking or clamping activity is selected simply by reversing the position of the power head with respect to the tubular extension bar.

A clamping system utilizing the adaptors may include one or a plurality of different types of beam clamp assemblies, each of which may have jaws which are differently configured, one or more adaptors, each having a fastener specially configured to facilitate releasable attachment to one of the plurality of different types of beam clamp assemblies, each of the adaptors also including a connector for releasably attaching a workpiece clamping fixture to the adaptor, and one or more workpiece clamping fixtures, each clamping fixture including a connector configured to engage the connector on any of the adaptors and facilitate releasable attachment of the clamping fixture to any of the adaptors. The clamping system allows a workpiece clamping fixture to be mounted onto any of a plurality of different beam clamp assemblies having differently configured jaws to provide greater flexibility in the selection of clamping fixtures and beam clamp assemblies for performing a particular job on a particular workpiece.
