摘要: Idler mechanism includes a pickup roller gear; a third pickup gear that meshes with the pickup roller gear; a pickup idler arm that is capable of pivoting around a pivot axis between the pickup roller gear side and the third pickup gear side; first and second pickup idler gears disposed at ends of the pickup idler arm; and a second pickup gear that rotates around a pivot axis and drives the first and second pickup idler gears. The first pickup idler gear meshes with the pickup roller gear when the pickup idler arm is pivoted toward the pickup roller gear, while the second pickup idler gear meshes with the third pickup gear when the pickup idler arm is pivoted toward the third pickup gear. At least one of the first and second pickup idler gears is always meshing with respective one of the pickup roller gear and the third pickup gear.

摘要: A ticket-printing device has a ribbon sensor and a mode-switching circuit. The mode-switching circuit automatically selects different printing conditions depending on whether or not the ribbon sensor detects the presence of an ink ribbon. The ink ribbon is wound on a supply spool and take-up spool. When the ink ribbon is replaced, a ribbon fixture holds the supply spool and take-up spool in correct relative positions so that they can be easily slipped onto a supply spool shaft and take-up spool shaft in the ticket-printing device.

摘要: A thermal demand printer for printing on media is a novel system which includes a case structure including a hinged cover panel, easily removable guide structures and media hanger, and a single central support wall to which the various components are attached. The printer includes a power supply circuit for receiving power from an external source and conditioning it for operation of the printer. An input device is provided for receiving command signals related to the operation of the printer. A control circuit for processing the command signals and generating corresponding control signals for controlling the operation of the printer and a printhead assembly for processing the control signals and generating corresponding control signals for controlling the operation of the printer are mounted in the case structure and coupled to the input device and the power supply circuit. The printhead assembly includes a printhead support structure which controls the printhead. A ribbon take-up spindle, method of operating the take-up spindle using a PMDC motor, and a spring wrap clutch device help to control the tension in the transfer ribbon used in the printer. The printer also includes a medial sensor and a method of sensing media by way of detecting the opacity of the media passing through the sensor. The printer includes a method of printhead control using double data loading and a method of accelerating and decelerating media relative to the printhead using pulse width modulation.

摘要: The invention concerns a device in printers of the kind wherein an ink ribbon (5) is arranged to be reeled off an unwinding roller (4) and to be wound onto a take-up roller (6) after having passed through a printing unit (7). In order to compensate for any skewing forces occuring in the ribbon (5), the unwinding roller (4) and/or the take-up roller (6) is/are mounted on a rotatable shaft (8) which is provided with a pivot mechanism (9, 11, 12; 21; 22, 24), allowing correcting guide movements of said ribbon (5).

摘要: A printer is capable of preventing the formation of creases in a portion of an ink ribbon corresponding to a print head and of printing characters and images in good print quality without forming streaks attributable to creases in the ink ribbon. A main frame supports a feed spool and a takeup spool so that an ink ribbon extends between the feed spool and the takeup spool. A print head support frame supporting a print head and an ink ribbon guide is supported pivotally at one end thereof on the main frame. When the print head support frame is locked in place on the main frame, the ink ribbon guide depresses the ink ribbon so that the tension of a portion of the ink ribbon on one side of the main frame is higher than that of a portion of the same on the other side of the main frame while the printer is in an unoperational state and tension is distributed uniformly across a portion of the ink ribbon corresponding to the print head while the printer is in an operational state. Thus, creases are not formed in the ink ribbon while the printer is in the operational state.

摘要: In a transfer printing film roll comprising a bobbin, and a transfer printing film wound around the bobbin, the inner trailing end of the transfer printing film is bonded to the bobbin over the width of the film so strongly as to prevent separation of the film from the bobbin due to the force of a feed motor for paying out the film even when the film has been paid out completely from the bobbin. Because of the strong bonding made over the width of the film, the film can be wound around the bobbin with a uniform distribution of tension and without offset of the side edges of the film wound over each other. When the film has been paid out completely to the trailing end, tension on the film increases so that the load on the feed motor also increases. The increased load can be utilized to detect the end of the film. This eliminates the need of an "END" mark applied to the trailing end of the film for detecting the end of the film.
