A load retaining gate assembly is provided to restrain the movement of items stored in the bed of a vehicle. The load retaining gate assembly is made of two gate members arranged in sliding relationship and has at least one compression spring-loaded assembly. One gate member slides into another gate member. A compression spring is held in place within the gate members for biasing the length of the gate assembly against side walls of a vehicle bed. The gate assembly is held in place by the pressure put by the spring against the side walls of the vehicle bed. The gate assembly can be positioned anywhere across the width of the vehicle bed and can be easily removed from its position when not needed and locked in a compressed state.

A bulkhead for dividing a cargo container into multiple compartments. In one embodiment the bulkhead includes two panels that span the width and height of the cargo container when adjacent to each other. Each panel has one or more angle brackets mounted to it. Each angle bracket is bent approximately 90°, forming a base section and a flanged arm. The base section is mounted to the back face of the panel, and the flanged arm inserts through a slot in the panel and projects in front of the panel. Cross bars slide through openings in the angle brackets in front of the panels and couple the bulkhead to tracks along the walls of the container. The cross bars can be coupled to multiple points along these tracks, allowing the position of the bulkhead to be adjusted along the length of the container.

The device further includes inserts that can be used to adjust the length of the device so it fits within a user's truck bed. To prevent the device from shifting while in use, the inserts can removably attach to end pieces, wherein the end pieces can attach to the sides of a truck bed. In the alternative, the inserts can removably attach directly to grooves on the sides of a truck bed.

The apparatus has a holding element, a pair of straps each attachable to a respective support member of the holding element, and a pair of clamping members attached to a left side wall and a right side wall of the cargo bed, respectively, at a position adjacent to a rear wall of the cargo bed. Each strap is fed through a respective clamping member. The clamping member securely holds the strap when in an engaged aspect and allows the strap to slide unrestricted when in a disengaged aspect.

The arm includes a first arm, a second arm, a collar and an adjustment arm. Ends of the first and second arms are each disposed within the collar and the adjustment arm is engaged with the second arm. The collar includes opposed holders with bearing surfaces, with a shaft extending through the holder, and a spring disposed between the bearing surfaces. An end face of the first arm engages the bearing surface of the first holder, and an end face of the second arm engages the bearing surface of the second holder. Movement of the first arm linearly toward the second arm compresses the spring, which provides a resistance to compression and biases the first and second arms away from each other.

This invention relates to securing palletized materials, and more specifically, to creating a temporary wall system for securing palletized materials placed in vehicles for transport. The temporary wall system allows for an unsecured side of a palletized load to be secured in a quick and easy fashion, to prevent movement and shifting of the load during transport. The wall system may include a panel member having a predetermined height and width, with engagement feet securing the wall system in association with an individual pallet of palletized materials. The panel member may further include at least one restraint receiving system. In examples, a hanging system allows for effective storage when not in use.
