Abstract:
In a pallet, in particular for the carrying of vehicle tires comprising a bottom part and two opposite side parts, which are attached perpendicularly to the bottom part to form together with the bottom part a tire-receiving region, and in which tire supporting members are provided in the tire-receiving region, provision is made for a vertically extending introduction slot freely accessible from above in at least one of the side parts, in particular for a tire handling device. This introduction slot allows without problem a deep lowering of rod-like tire handling devices which extend transversely above the side parts.
Abstract:
A rack for stacking articles and maintaining stacked articles under compression for compact storage, includes upper and lower cooperating U-shaped members. The U-shaped members each include a horizontal support and a leg extending vertically from opposite ends of the horizontal support. The vertical legs of at least one of the upper and lower members cooperate with the vertical legs of the other of the upper and lower members for vertical adjustment of the upper member relative to the lower member. A device is provided for locking the upper and lower members from relative movement with each other, subsequent to adjustment of the upper and lower members.
Abstract:
A protector for aircraft wheel assemblies comprises an annular upper main protective member and an annular lower main protective member, each extending in a radial direction over a respective tire sidewall for enclosing and sealing the hub, and for at least partially covering the tire sidewalls. Each main protective member includes one of a pair of mating portions so that wheel assemblies fitted with the protector may be stacked and transported horizontally. The main protective members are clamped to the wheel assembly using adjustable clamping means, including an externally threaded shaft member and a tubular shaft member for receiving the threaded shaft member. The threaded shaft member is further provided with a locking T-member which seats securely in a groove in a reinforcing member on the lower main protective member.
Abstract:
A display carton for a replacement wheel assembly of the type used on a lawn mower, wheelbarrow, spreader, or other garden-type vehicle. The carton is provided with opposed sidewall panels which contain cutouts so that the wheel assembly protrudes beyond the carton sides enabling a purchaser to view the wheel tire prior to selecting the wheel assembly for purchase. Each sidewall panel has a tuck end panel inserted into the carton and secured in place by a tuck lock flap pivotably connected to the rear wall panel of the carton. The tuck lock flap includes a plurality of creases intermediate its edges so that it can be folded and positioned between the wheel assembly and a tuck end panel within the carton adjacent to the rear wall panel of the carton, between the rear wall panel and the wheel assembly, to preclude opening of the carton and removal of the wheel assembly on display.
