    摘要: In accordance with the invention, a fireplace starting apparatus is provided which includes a control valve for controlling the flow of flammable gas to a fireplace burner, with said control valve being adapted for permanent installation in a structure external of and adjacent to a fireplace. Said apparatus includes a conduit connectable at one end to a fireplace burner within the fireplace and at the other end to the control valve. In one embodiment, the device may be provided with a remotely operable ignition/reignition device including an igniter mountable adjacent the burner within the fire box, an actuator located adjacent to the control valve and means operably connecting the actuator to the igniter. A sensor adjacent to the igniter may detect the absence of a flame and cause the igniter to light the gas flame upon startup and also during operation of the gas flame is extinguished while the gas is still flowing. The device may include provision for both a gas conduit to the burner and electrodes for the igniter and the sensor to pass through one knockout hole in the fireplace.

    摘要: Pilot burner especially for a device for burning soot in the exhaust gas of diesel engines, including a hollow cylindrical mixing chamber 10 and glow plug chamber 11 connected transversely thereto via an opening 12. A fuel supply pipe 28 ends into the glow plug chamber 11 and an air supply pipe 18 ends into the mixing chamber 10. In the area of the spiral incandescent filament 28, the glow plug is coaxially surrounded by a protective tube 26 made of wire fabric. The fuel supply pipe 28 ends in an orifice extension piece 27 which extends radially into the glow plug chamber 11. The protective tube 26 has a large surface so that the fuel hitting thereon uniformly evaporates. The protective tube 26 is welded to a sleeve 37 which is screwed into glow plug chamber 11 and can hence be easily replaced.

    摘要: A fireplace grate is disclosed for supporting logs, or other fuel, and incorporating a gas burner integrally in the structure of the grate. As disclosed, a plurality of cradle members, of tubular metal stock are affixed to a pair of transverse, support rails which are formed of similar material and include downwardly turned extensions to define the legs of the grate. The tubular stock is of substantially square cross section, forming the grate so that the surfaces are offset from the horizontal to shed ash. One of the rails incorporates end closures to define a passage which is vented by a series of spaced-apart gas jets. A coupling apparatus is affixed to supply the passage with combustible gas, the apparatus incorporating a metering device for limiting the flow rate of gas into the passage.
