摘要： A method and device is provided for detecting a flow of particles, particularly paint particles, in a powder transportation line connected to a powder spray gun. The powder transportation line of the device includes a portion having an interior face provided with an electrostatically friction-charging material. The portion of the transportation line may be located upstream or downstream of the pump or within the pump itself. The transportation line portion is in electrical communication with a unit for sensing electrical signals. When the powder particles flow through the transportation line portion, an electrical charge is generated in the portion as a result of the friction between the particles and the friction-charging material. This electrical charge is detected by the sensing unit.

摘要： A corona discharge apparatus includes a control unit and a discharge unit. The control unit has a baseboard with a main power source circuit located thereon. A CPU, a memory as well as other elements such as an attachment for a gas supply source are] installed in a housing of the control unit. The discharge unit has a high voltage generation circuit including a high-frequency step-up transformer installed in a housing of the discharge unit. A cable including a power line and a signal communication line is detachably connectable to the control unit and the discharge unit to electrically couple the units together through connectors secured to the respective housings. A gas guide tube is also detachably connectable to the discharge unit housing to feed a gas from the gas supply source into the discharge unit.

摘要： A streaming current detector having a probe in which dielectric elements used to generate the streaming current—specifically, a sleeve for slideably receiving a reciprocating piston and the piston itself—can be replaced independently of the electrodes. Paired electrodes, each positioned proximate with one of the distal ends of the sleeve, are mounted on immobile structures other than the sleeve. The latter include a housing which forms a sheath for the sleeve and a retaining fitting. Threadedly engaged with the housing, this fitting also holds the sleeve in place. Generally, removal and replacement of each probe element can be accomplished in the field in under one minute. Costs of the dielectric elements are only a small fraction of those in the prior art, allowing a consumer to replace them much more frequently, as well as to substitute matched dielectric elements designed for their chemical and/or physical compatibility with a particular test fluid.
