摘要: A system and apparatus for constructing a work platform under a bridge deck that has a decking segment that moves under the bridge deck from one end to the other as work progresses, eliminating the need for constructing decking under the entire length of the bridge deck. The decking segment hangs from a plurality of trolleys that move along a plurality of rails beneath the bridge deck, the trolleys moving the decking segment from one end of the bridge deck to another. The trolley has at least one main wheel that runs on the tubular rail top and a plurality of side wheels that maintain the trolley on the tubular rail, the trolley smoothly moving along the tubular rail.

摘要: Provided is a bridge inspection robot that avoids obstacles is provided. An ascending/descending portion corresponds to a gap distance between a first and second girder flange provided at the upper side of a bridge pier. An obstacle detection portion detects the obstacle and a photographing altitude control portion detects an altitude change of an image photographing portion according to obstacle height when the robot main body climbs up/down or avoids the obstacle, and adjusts a photographing height to correspond to the altitude change. A position calculation portion measures a mobile position of the robot main body corresponding to a consecutively photographed image, to calculate axis coordinates. An image processing portion receives the consecutively photographed images and coordinates, to confirm the crack elements corresponding to images and produce an image of an actual position coordinate of the corresponding image.

摘要: A work platform for use on bridges wherein a plurality of cables extend along a section of the bridge in spaced relation below the deck or roadway and steel support structure of the bridge, which cables are supported at opposite ends by either the steel support structure of the bridge or by the spaced-apart vertical piers of the bridge, and wherein a plurality of platform flooring panels or sections are supported on the cables, extend laterally of the cables, are arranged side-by-side along the section of the bridge such as between the piers and are removably secured to the cables. In one aspect the cables are connected at each end exclusively to the bridge piers, and in another aspect the cables are connected at each end exclusively to the bridge steel structure. In the latter instance, there is provided the capability of installation on skewed or angled bridge sections. In both aspects there is capability of adjustment in vertical and horizontal directions. The platform flooring sections comprise elongated rectangular corrugated decking panels and are arranged in end-to-end overlapping relation transversely of the cables, side-to-side overlapping relation along the bridge and with the corrugations extending transversely of the cables. The corrugations maximize the strength-to-weight ratio of the platform flooring and provide recesses or receptacles to contain debris and facilitate its collection and removal. Each of the platform flooring sections is releasably connected at spaced locations to the supporting cables on which it rests. This is provided by connector assemblies comprising a first part which engages the upper surface of the flooring section and the cable and a second part which engages the upper surface of the flooring section, the two parts being removably connected together through a small opening in the flooring. As a result, individual flooring sections can be removed to provide access through the flooring in emergency or critical situations while at the same time allowing the remainder of the flooring to retain collected debris. A connector assembly also is provided which has a manually operated lever for selectively placing the connector assembly in clamped or un-clamped positions relative to the cable and flooring section. The corrugated decking panels can be provided with hinged plates for covering the corrugations to provide a substantially flat surface over the panels.

摘要: A bridge platform and method of erecting the same wherein a plurality of cables extend longitudinally of the bridge in spaced relation below the deck or roadway and steel support structure of the bridge, which cables are supported at opposite ends by the spaced-apart vertical piers of the bridge, and wherein a plurality of platform flooring panels or sections are supported on the cables, extend laterally of the bridge, are arranged side-by-side along the length of the bridge between the piers and are removably secured to the cables. The cables are attached to the bridge piers by compression clamp structures. The platform flooring sections comprise elongated rectangular corrugated decking panels and are arranged in end-to-end overlapping relation transversely of the bridge, side-to-side overlapping relation longitudinally along the bridge and with the corrugations extending transversely of the cables. The corrugations maximize the strength-to-weight ratio of the platform flooring and provide recesses or receptacles to contain debris and facilitate its collection and removal. Each of the platform flooring sections is releasably connected at spaced locations to the supporting cables on which it rests. As a result, individual flooring sections can be removed to provide access through the flooring in emergency or critical situations while at the same time allowing the remainder of the flooring to retain collected debris.

摘要: A work platform assembly is modular in construction so as to be configurable according to the configuration and size, particularly width, requirements of each bridge and to metal surfaces thereof which are to be reconditioned by abrasive stripping and recoating. The assembled platform is suspendable at each end by suspension frame assemblies which are rollable along the parapets of the bridge for repositioning the platform assembly, with the suspension assembly being adjustable to various configurations of parapets. An adjustable curtain frame enables sealed enclosure of bridge surfaces to be treated and optimum access of workers to those surfaces during the treatment. Airborne residue is evacuated by vacuum for subsequent disposal in a manner which does not contaminate the environment, while heavier residue and spent abrasive grit is collected and positively moved off of the platform assembly for subsequent, environmentally safe separation and reconstitution of the grit for reuse. The work platform assembly includes a floatation system which permits the work platform assembly to float in a body of water. The floatation system facilitates the maneuvering of the work platform assembly to better access surfaces to be treated. Additionally, the floatation system of the work platform assembly facilitates the transportation of the work platform assembly to a structure located above a body of water.

摘要: A work platform assembly and trailer system for transporting and vertically positioning the work platform assembly adjacent bridge deck surfaces to be treated. The trailer includes front and rear lifting assemblies for supporting, and being removably attached to, an end of the work platform assembly. The lifting assemblies include vertically oriented lifting cylinders for vertically positioning the work platform assembly immediately adjacent the bridge deck surfaces to be treated. The trailer includes wheels and a hitch to facilitate the transport of the work platform assembly to the site of the bridge deck. The work platform assembly is modular in construction so as to be configurable according to the configuration and size, particularly width, requirements of each bridge and to metal surfaces thereof which are to be reconditioned by abrasive stripping and recoating. An adjustable curtain frame and/or other devices enable sealed enclosure of bridge surfaces to be treated and optimum access of workers to those surfaces during the treatment. Airborne residue is evacuated by vacuum into a dust collection system for subsequent disposal in a manner which does not contaminate the environment, while heavier residue and spent abrasive grit is collected and positively moved off of the platform assembly into a residue separation system for subsequent, environmentally safe separation and reconstitution of the grit for reuse. The dust collection and residue separation systems may be removably attached to the trailer.
