    Abstract: A fiber optic connector having a set of opposing pins set in a recess configured to accept a corresponding spring therein. The springs are placed on either side of the fiber optic cable bundle and secured within a pinkeep. The dual or outer springs help prevent rotation of the ferrule assembly during use.

    Abstract: Splicing or connecting optical fibers extending from a first ferrule and a second ferrule is accomplished using heat or epoxy. Two half ferrules of differing dimensions or the same dimensions are secured together using a pair of guide pins. One of the two ferrules is biased by a spring forward and against a second ferrule to form the mechanical transfer ferrule. The mechanical transfer ferrule is secured within an inner housing of a fiber optic connector by a spring push that is secure to a distal end of the inner housing. A slidable outer housing biased forward by an elastic arm that ensures the fiber optic connector with the spliced two half ferrules is secured within an adapter port.

    Abstract: A boot assembly having a boot body with a passageway molded from a proximal to distal end of the body. The passageway accepts a repositioning device made of a malleable material such as metal that retains its shape under internal forces of the boot assembly. The boot assembly further comprises one or more cables for fiber optics or power. Bending the flexible boot assembly from a first position to a second position, the flexible boot assembly retains the second position without returning to the first position under the resilient material of the boot.

    Abstract: A multiple fiber push-on (MPO) optical connector is provided having a ferrule configured to house multiple optical fibers and including a stepped portion extending from at least one pair of opposing exterior surfaces of the ferrule. A one-piece housing-backpost is provided having a distal end in a connection direction and a proximal end in a cable direction. The one-piece housing-backpost is configured to receive a ferrule spring and the ferrule from the distal end. The housing-backpost includes at least one resiliently-deformable ferrule-retaining protrusion extending from a sidewall to engage the corresponding stepped portion of the ferrule. The resiliently-deformable ferrule-retaining protrusion is configured to deform towards the housing-backpost interior sidewall as the ferrule is inserted from the distal end and to extend outward against the stepped portion of the ferrule when the ferrule is seated in the housing-backpost to maintain the ferrule in the housing-backpost.
