Abstract:
A hydrogen storage composition, a hydrogen storage container and a method for producing the hydrogen storage container are provided. The hydrogen storage composition includes a thermally-conductive material, a hydrogen storage material, and optionally an elastic material. The hydrogen storage container includes a canister body and the hydrogen storage composition. After the hydrogen storage composition is placed into a canister body, a vacuum environment within the canister body is created, and a first weight of the canister body is recorded. Then, hydrogen gas is activated and charged into the canister body, and a second weight of the canister body is recorded. Then, a hydrogen storage amount is calculated according to the first weight and the second weight. If the hydrogen storage amount reaches the predetermined value, the hydrogen storage container is produced.
Abstract:
A module for humidifying a fuel cell and a unit cell therein. The unit cell includes a first guiding plate, a second guiding plate, and an intermediate layer. The first guiding plate, communicating with the fuel cell, includes a plurality of first grooves so that air flows to the fuel cell via the first grooves. The second guiding plate, communicating with the fuel cell, includes a plurality of second grooves so that gas from the fuel cell flows out of the unit cell via the second grooves. The second grooves face the first grooves. The intermediate layer is disposed between the first guiding plate and the second guiding plate, and prevents the air flowing in the first grooves from mixing with the gas flowing in the second grooves. Water content in the gas flowing in the second grooves is transmitted to the first grooves.
Abstract:
A heating device for a container in which a hydrogen storage canister is disposed. The hydrogen storage canister supplies hydrogen to a fuel cell including a discharge port, and the heating device includes a water jacket and a seal member. The water jacket is disposed on the container, and communicates with the discharge port of the fuel cell. When the hydrogen storage canister is disposed on the container, the hydrogen storage canister is surrounded by the water jacket and is heated by via water from the discharge exit. The seal member is disposed between the water jacket and the container so that the hydrogen storage canister is closely abutted by the water jacket.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel structure of a single cell module of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), comprising an anode bipolar plate, a cathode bipolar plate and a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) sandwiched therebetween. The MEA is substantially disposed on a central portion between the anode and cathode bipolar plates. A desired amount of silicon rubber (RTV), by means of programmed automatic robotic arms, is applied to a circumferential portion between the anode and cathode bipolar plates to seal, cushion and position the anode bipolar plate and cathode bipolar plate under a pre-determined compression pressure after the RTV is cured, thereby forming an integral single cell module. According to the structural concept, a plurality of the single cells can be customized to form a cell unit by superimposing them in sequential order, of which an upper surface of the anode bipolar plate and/or a lower surface of the cathode bipolar plate are/is formed with grooves on their circumferential portions for receiving the RTV so as to provide a sealing, cushioning and positioning contact, and achieve an optimal compression pressure among the layered single cells.
Abstract:
This invention is related to a bipolar plate for a fuel cell, the bipolar plate comprises a central area and a surrounding area, wherein the central area has a first side surface and a second side surface opposed to the first side surface, the central area is in a form of continuous corrugation which defines a plurality of grooves that are substantially parallel with and complementary to each other on each of the first side surface and the second side surface. The thickness of the bipolar plate of this invention can be very thin so as to decrease the dimension and weight of the fuel cell. The cost for manufacturing the fuel cell is also reduced by the simplified process of this invention.
