Abstract:
In photographic processing apparatus for developing, bleaching-fixing and washing photographic materials, a predetermined quantity of fresh wash water is supplied into a washing tank every time a predetermined amount of the photographic materials have been washed. The fresh wash water is provided by deionizing city water and is reservoired in a replenisher tank. In order to detect a predetermined loss of the fresh wash water in the replenisher tank, a conductivity increasing material is dissolved in the fresh wash water in the replenisher tank when a predetermined quantity of the deionized water is supplied so as to electrically connect a pair of electrodes disposed at a predetermined depth of the replenisher tank. A sterilizer is mixed in the fresh wash water to prevent bacterial growth in the replenisher tank. The conductivity increasing material and the sterilizer are prepared as a predetermined dose of mixture necessary and sufficient for the predetermined quantity of deionized water supplied into the replenisher tank.

Abstract:
This invention provides a processing method for exposed silver halide color photosensitive materials, which enables sufficient desilverization to be performed in a short time and highly photographic quality to be obtained. The processing method of this invention comprises the steps of: exposing silver halide color photosensitive material containing 5-pyrazolone-type or pyrazoloazole-type 2-equivalent magenta coupler to light; color developing said photosensitive material; and desilverizing said photosensitive material, wherein said desilverizing step uses a bleaching bath containing ferric complex salt aminopolycarboxylate, and thereafter uses a bleaching-and-fixing bath containing ferric complex salt aminopolycarboxylate.
Abstract:
A method for color image formation is disclosed, comprising imagewise exposing to light a silver halide color photographic material having a silver halide emulsion layer containing monodispersed silver halide grains, subjecting the exposed material to color development, and processing the material with a bath primarily having bleaching capacity and then with a bath having bleach-fixing capacity. The method realizes acceleration of desilvering to reduce the processing time.

The self-emulsifiable silicone composition of the invention comprises (a) an organopolysiloxane having polyoxyalkylene moieties and perfluoroalkyl-containing organic groups and represented by the average unit formula ##STR1## in which R is hydrogen atom or a monovalent hydrocarbon group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, G is polyoxyalkylene residue represented by the general formula ##STR2## and (b) an organopolysiloxane having perfluoroalkyl-containing organic groups represented by the average unit formula ##STR3## The composition is useful as an antifoam agent and, despite the high self-emulsifiability and stability, exhibits excellent defoaming activity even at relatively low temperatures around room temperature in contrast to conventional silicone-based antifoam compositions.
Abstract:
A very simple and versatile method is proposed for the preparation of an aqueous emulsion of silicone in which an organochlorosilane or a mixture of organochlorosilanes is added dropwise into an aqueous medium in the presence of a surface active agent or, preferably, into an aqueous medium containing a surface active agent in advance followed by or with concurrent removal of the hydrogen chloride from the mixture by adding an alkaline neutralizing agent or by use of the techniques of ion exchange so that a stable aqueous emulsion can be produced in the aqueous medium at the same time as the organochlorosilane or silanes are hydrolyzed followed by the dehydration condensation of the resultant silanol compounds to form an organopolysiloxane in situ by the catalytic activity of the hydrogen chloride formed by the hydrolysis.
Abstract:
A laser beam printer in which latent images are produced on a light-sensitive drum through line scanning with a laser beam modulated with print information to be printed. The laser beam is modulated with the information to be printed in such a manner that the light sensitive drum is irradiated with the laser beam except for those portions which are to be printed. The line scanning is effected with the laser beam modulated in accordance with the print information in a non-superposed manner on one hand and on the other hand with the laser beam which is modulated by information synthesized from the printing information for every two adjacent line scanning so that these two adjacent line scannings are partially covered by the line scanning based on the synthesized information.

The efficiency of silver recovery from photographic processing solutions is improved by the installation of a silver recovery water tank between the fix or blix tank and the wash water tank, which is provided with a mechanism for maintaining the silver concentration of said recovery tank at a substantially constant value, said mechanism comprising a detecting means for measuring the amount of the photographic material treated by the processing line involved and a means to supply water thereto operatable by signal from said detecting means.
Abstract:
The coating composition is prepared by partial co-hydrolysis and co-condensation of a mixture comprising an organotrialkoxysilane or its combination with a tetraalkoxysilane, a fluoroalkylalkoxysilane and a hydroxy-endblocked diorganopolysiloxane in the presence of an acid catalyst. The organopolysiloxanes thus prepared are suitable for coating plastic surfaces to produce a coating on the surfaces, the cured coating film having hardness as well as flexibility sufficient to ensure a very strong resistance to swelling, dissolution or corrosion by attacks of solvents and chemicals.
