摘要： A drive transmission having a drive shaft and means for rotating the shaft. Spaced dogs are rotated by the shaft and these dogs are biased in a direction substantially inwardly of the axis of rotation of the shaft. The amount of force required to rotate the shaft can be varied. In one embodiment, this may be accomplished by a cam member rotated by the shaft engaging rollers on the dogs, which rollers have tapered surfaces engaging varying irregular surfaces on the cam member. In another embodiment, this may be accomplished by having the cam member rotated directly by the shaft engaging spaced balls mounted in a race housing, the balls being movable in a direction parallel to and at right angles to the axis of rotation of the shaft.
