Abstract: A document scanner comprises first and second image sensor units (30,32), each having an array of electromagnetic radiation detectors (44) situated adjacent circuitry (42) for operating the detectors. A scanning mechanism (70,72,76,78,80) causes relative movement between the detectors and a document to cause the detectors to scan the document along a scanning direction. The array of detectors of the first unit (30) is situated ahead of the array of detectors of the second unit (32) in said scanning direction, the orientation of the detectors of the first unit with respect to their circuitry thus being the reverse of that of the detectors of the second unit, thereby to reduce the distance, in the scanning direction, between the two arrays.

Abstract: A document scanner comprises a first image sensor unit (30) and a second image sensor unit (32) and a scanning mechanism (70, 72, 76, 80) for causing relative movement between a document and the units so that the units scan the document in a scanning direction. The first unit (30) is situated ahead of the second unit (32) in the scanning direction and partially overlaps the second unit. Each sensor unit has a respective linear array (44) of electromagnetic radiation detectors and one or more light guides (48, 49) for directing light from a respective one of two imaging lines (63) on to the detectors, wherein, in use, the imaging lines scan the document to capture data representative of two respective sets of scan line portions for combination to obtain a succession of scan lines for the document, the one or more light guides of the first unit (30) are angled rearwardly with respect to the scanning direction, whilst the one or more light guides of the second unit (32) are angled forwardly with respect to the scanning direction, so as to reduce the distance with respect to the scanning direction, between the imaging lines (63).

Abstract: The disclosure discloses a handover method based on a cognitive technology. At least two working areas such as a Primary Working Area (PWA) and a Secondary Working Area (SWA), a RRM and a HOC are configured both in User Equipment (UE) and in a Base Station (BS); after receiving a handover request, according to the current radio environments, the PWA of the BS makes a handover negotiation with the neighboring BSs or with the neighboring BSs and the UE requesting handover, determines the communication parameters satisfying the handover request, and sends the determined communication parameters to the SWA of the BS and the SWA of the UE; the SWA of the BS and the SWA of the UE configure said communication parameters and notify the RRM of the BS after the configuration is finished; the RRM of the BS instructs the HOC of the BS and the HOC of the UE to activate the respective SWAs, and to perform the handover according to the communication parameters configured by the SWA. The disclosure also discloses a handover system based on the cognitive technology. The disclosure improves the resource utilization ratio and the quality of service in the current communication system.

Abstract: A tilt switch includes an insulating housing having a receiving chamber and a connecting cavity smaller than the receiving chamber in diameter to form a step therebetween, electrical terminals penetrating through the insulating housing to project into the connecting cavity, an insulating cover removably covered on the insulating housing, and a switching ball made of conductive materials and rollably placed between the insulating housing and the insulating cover. The step has a top face perpendicular to periphery surfaces of the connecting cavity and the receiving chamber. The switching ball needs to roll over the step having a hard span when the tilt switch changes working states between a closed state realized by the switching ball projecting into the connecting cavity to simultaneously connect with the electrical terminals, and an open state realized by tilting the tilt switch to disconnect the switching ball from at least one electrical terminal.
