    摘要: A cloth for ink jet printing, fabricated by providing a low density cloth with a sizing agent of the gel-transition type, gel-initiating agent, and ink receiving agent for filling up gaps between fibers, and by drying the low density cloth so that even in the case where the ink-jet printing process is applied to such a low density cloth as a loosely woven or knitted fabric, a clear image can be printed thereon without ink striking through gaps between fibers, and without causing the cloth to be stained. For the low density cloth, a cloth of a single yarn weight fineness of 100 d or less, and a woven or knitted fabric of a warp density of 120 warps or less/inch or a filling density of 150 fillings or less/inch are suitable. With the use of the cloth, an ink-jet printed fabric deep in color as well as abundantly expressive of gradation (that is, having a wide range of color strength) can be obtained while preventing ink from passing through, and supporting members and the cloth from being stained.

    摘要: An automotive headlamp employing a discharge lamp as its light source in which the emission of harmful ultraviolet ray is eliminated in the output light beam. The headlamp includes a lamp body, a reflector mounted in the lamp body, and a discharge bulb mounted in a bulb insertion hole in the rear portion of the reflector. The discharge bulb is composed of a lamp base, a pair of long and short lead supports projecting forward from the lamp base, the discharge lamp, a pair of lead wires extending in respective forward and rearward directions from front and rear end portions of the discharge lamp, and forward and rear metal supports welded to the long and short lead supports and to respective ones of the lead wires so as to support the discharge lamp at its opposite ends on the long and short lead supports. The forward end of the longer lead support terminates at a position substantially corresponding to a front end edge of the front portion of the discharge lamp. An ultraviolet-ray shielding globe encloses the discharge lamp so as to cut ultraviolet rays from light emitted by the discharge lamp. A front end portion of the ultraviolet-ray shielding globe is tapered so as not to interfere with light reflected from a circumferential edge portion of the reflector around the bulb insertion hole.

    摘要: A vehicular headlamp employing a discharge bulb as a light source in which a lighting circuit for the bulb, including an ignitor, is secured to a lamp housing in such a manner as to cover a rear opening in the housing. This arrangement results in significantly reduced danger of shock and reduced radiation of electromagnetic noise. In another embodiment of the invention, a lighting-circuit-accommodating unit containing a lighting circuit is bayonet-engaged with a circular opening in the rear wall of a lamp body, and also is fixed to the lamp body by a second fixing device in such a manner as to prevent rotation of the lighting-circuit-accommodating unit relative to the lamp body.
