The second thermal head is arranged on the upstream side of the first thermal head in a paper feed direction. A paper feed speed of the first platen roller to the thermal recording paper is larger than a paper feed speed of the second platen roller. The first platen roller is in contact with the thermal recording paper while being more slippery compared with the second platen roller.

摘要： A printer includes a print head for printing on a print medium and a platen which supports the print medium, and is located opposite to the print head. The print head is linearly moved along the print medium. The platen includes first and second end portions and an intermediate portion, and is formed of material having stiffness. The first and second end portions are located at respective ends of the platen in the moving direction of the print head, and the intermediate portion is located between the first and second end portions. The first and second end portions are supported by respective spring members, such that they can be elastically displaced in a direction toward or away from the print head. The intermediate portion is formed to be more easily warped than the first and second end portions.

摘要： A paper width of a sheet of paper is input into a paper width setting section. In case of defining a non-print area at a fore end of the paper, a paper bail roller is manually separated from a platen to output a detection signal A from a paper bail switch. In this case, a paper feeding motor is controlled to be driven by a control device, thereby feeding the paper until the fore end of the paper reaches the paper bail roller. On the other hand, in case of starting printing from the fore end of the paper, an operating section is operated to output a command signal B therefrom. In this case, only when the paper width input into the paper width setting section is determined to be less than a predetermined value by the control device, the paper feeding motor is controlled to be driven by the control device, thereby feeding the paper until the fore end of the paper reaches a position opposed to the printing head, and a centering device is controlled to be driven by the control means, thereby moving a carrier to a transverse center of the paper, so as to suppress separation of opposite side portions of the paper from the platen.

An attachment frame is pivotably supported on a sidewall of the paper roll receiving unit having an arc-shaped hole portion extending along a pivot movement trajectory of a pivoting end portion of the attachment frame. An arm is pivotably supported on the attachment frame, with a projection formed in a pivoting end portion thereof and inserted into the arc-shaped hole portion. When the paper roll becomes equal to or smaller than a predetermined size, the projection of the arm is moved toward the cylindrical core of the paper roll.
