Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for identifying an item that is counterfeit in the marketplace. Sales of counterfeit items in marketplaces, particularly at auction places, have been an issue. There has been a need to automatically detect an item that is counterfeit when a seller submits the item for sale in the marketplace. The disclosed technology receives information about an item for transaction. The information associated with the item includes metadata related to the item and an image of the item. The method uses a database of items that are known to be not for sale (e.g., a stock photo) or is otherwise a counterfeit item. The method matches the data of the item against the data in the database and identifies the item as counterfeit based on the matched result. The matching operation includes analyzing the data (e.g., image analyses using features of the image data). Use of the disclosed technology enables automatic and efficient detection of counterfeit items as a seller submits the item for sale in the marketplace, thereby increasing reliability of the marketplace from buyers' perspective.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for an improved database management system that provides database transactions on a non-transactional database. The database management system executes garbage collection on data stored in a database to remove data values written to the database as part of uncommitted transactions. Each uncommitted transaction is associated with a respective transaction identifier that is not included in a list of committed transaction identifiers. The list of committed transaction identifiers lists, in sequential order, transaction identifiers for committed transaction. After removing each data value written to the database as part of an uncommitted transaction, the database management system modifies the list of committed transaction identifiers to include the transaction identifier for the uncommitted transaction.

Abstract: Systems and methods are directed to authenticating items using deformation analysis. An authentication system receives a request to authenticate an item. In response, the authentication system accesses two images of the item, whereby a first image shows the item hanging without a weight load and a second image shows the item hanging with the weight load. An image analyzer analyzes the two images to determine deformation differences of the item between the two images. The authentication system then determines an authentication score for the item by applying the deformation differences to a machine learning model trained with training data derived from authentic and counterfeit items. Based on the authentication score transgressing an authenticity threshold, an indication of authenticity of the item is provided.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a multi-dimensional commerce platform that may be utilized for the communication of data. Aspects of the multi-dimensional commerce platform may include various functional components to facilitate a system to receive inventory data at a first server associated with the multi-dimensional commerce platform, provide a second server associated with a third-party (e.g., a third party seller/distributor) access to the inventory data, alter or modify the inventory data based on attributes of the second server, and cause display of a presentation of the modified inventory data at a client device.

Abstract: Technologies are shown for network attribution tracking for a multi-legged transaction. In accordance with some aspects, a request is received at a second service from a client device via a first redirect including a first token associated with a first service. The second service sends, to a token service, a token request including the first token, wherein the token request causes the token service to associate a second token with the first token. The second service receives, from the token service, a token response including the second token. The second service provides, to the client device, a second redirect to a third service, the second redirect including the second token. In some aspects, a transaction is attributed to at least the first service and the second service based on the association of the second token with the first token.

Abstract: Systems and methods for are provided for predicting impending failure of a database and preemptively initiating mitigating failover actions, for example by shedding connections or redirecting connection requests to an alternate database that can fulfill resources being requested. In an example embodiment, to detect a slow or unstable database, connection wait times are monitored over a rolling window of time intervals, a quantity of intervals in which at least one excessive wait time event occurred are counted during the time window, and if the quantity exceeds a threshold, the database is deemed unavailable, thereby triggering connection adjustments.

Abstract: One of the important signals that online platforms rely upon is the click-through rate prediction. This allows a platform, such as a video platform, to provide items, such as videos, to users based on how likely the user is to interact with the item. A hypergraph model is provided to exploit the temporal user-item interactions to guide the representation learning with multi-modal features, and further predict the user click-through rate of an item. The hypergraph model is built upon the hyperedge notion of hypergraph neural networks. In this way, item modalities, such as visual, acoustic, and textual aspects can be used to enhance the click-through rate prediction and, thus, enhance the likelihood that the online platform will provide relevant content. The technology leverages hypergraphs, including interest-based hypergraphs and item hypergraphs that uniquely provide the relationship between user and items. The hypergraph model described demonstrably outperforms various state-of-the-art methods.

Abstract: A database node selects one of a number of database mirror hosts to perform a database read query. In theory, mirror hosts store redundant database entries. In practice, some mirror hosts fail to receive or retain some entries, e.g. if a mirror host was down for maintenance, a mirror host was overburdened, etc. The health of a mirror host, quantified as a health score, represents a likelihood that an insert statement was received and retained. Health scores are generated based on health metrics—data periodically retrieved from mirror hosts used to infer how well the database was operating, e.g. a count of entries that were inserted, a count of errors encountered while the entries were inserted, etc. If the database read query specifies entries inserted during a specific time period, the mirror host may be selected based on the health scores representing that time period.
