    Abstract: An apparatus of an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) node includes processing circuitry coupled to a memory. To configure the LAB node for inter-IAB node discovery and measurements within an IAB network, the processing circuitry is to encode a first synchronization signal block (SSB-A) for transmission to an access UE using a first frequency resource from a synchronization raster set of frequency resources. A second SSB (SSB-B) is encoded for transmission to a second IAB node using a second frequency resource from an off-raster set of frequency resources. The off-raster set is non-overlapping with the synchronization raster set of frequency resources and the SSB-B being time-division multiplexed with the SSB-A. A measurement report from the second IAB node is decoded. The measurement report is based on the SSB-B and associated with a backhaul link between the IAB node and the second IAB node.

At least one of the methods includes determining, by an IAB node including a mobile termination (MT) block and a co-located distributed unit (DU) block, two slot format indications (SFIs) by configuring the co-located DU block, the two SFIs indications including a first SFI that indicates a resource availability for communicating with a parent node and a second SFI that indicates a soft resource availability for communicating with a child node, in which each of the two SFIs include at least one RRCconfigured slot formats; and transmitting the two SFI indications to a second DU block.

A described technique includes transmitting, by an IAB-node, first synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) for access user equipment (UEs); and transmitting, by the IAB-node, second SSBs for inter-IAB-node discovery and measurement. The technique can include measuring, by the IAB-node, one or more third SSBs for inter-IAB-node discovery and measurement, and attaching to another IAB-node that is discovered based on the measuring.

    Abstract: Some embodiments of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for determining synchronization signal block (SSB) periodicity for cell reselection. In some embodiments, user equipment (UE) may establish a first connection with a first integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node using a first SSB periodicity. The UE may perform a cell reselection process and determine whether a number of candidate IAB nodes include a candidate IAB node with a previously stored candidate SSB periodicity corresponding to the candidate IAB node. If the UE identifies a candidate SSB periodicity, the UE may establish a second connection with the candidate IAB node using the candidate SSB periodicity. If the UE does not identify a previously stored candidate SSB periodicity, the UE may establish a second connection with a second IAB node using a second SSB periodicity that is less than the first SSB periodicity.

    Abstract: Embodiments of an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, a User Equipment (UE), and methods of communication are generally described herein. An IAB node may operate as a relay between an IAB donor and a UE. The IAB node may receive, from the IAB donor, first signaling that indicates a first timing advance (TA) offset between the IAB donor and the IAB node. The IAB node may determine a second TA offset between the IAB node and the UE. The second TA offset may be based on a timing difference between a transmission time of a downlink frame transmitted to the UE and a reception time of an uplink frame from the UE. The IAB node may transmit, to the UE, second signaling that indicates the first TA offset and the second TA offset.

    Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, apparatus, and computer programs for determining availability of soft time-domain resources for a node in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a Radio Resource Control (RRC) message from the IAB donor; determining, based on the RRC message, whether soft time-domain resources are available for the IAB node; and in response to determining that soft time-domain resources are available, scheduling a transmission with a child node using the available soft time-domain resources.
