Abstract: A container for consumer goods includes a rigid outer box having a hinged lid configured to provide access to an inner volume of the outer box, and a rigid inner box comprising panels separated by fold lines and assembled from an inner box blank. The inner box blank includes a top front panel separated from a top panel by a first transverse fold line, a back panel separated from the top panel by a second transverse fold line, a bottom panel separated from the back panel by a third transverse fold line, a bottom front panel separated from the bottom panel by a fourth transverse fold line, and the top panel and top front panel include side flaps. The inner box blank comprises a plurality of layers including paperboard and bundle wrap.

The outer box has a hinged lid permanently attached to a connecting tab of the pull tab whereby opening the hinged lid simultaneously opens the pre-cut opening in the inner box by lifting the pull tab. The connecting tab includes adhesive which is partially deadened to decrease adhesion of the connecting tab to the inner box. The pull tab can also include one or more machine readable markings to enhance automated application of the pull tab to an inner box blank during manufacturing of the container.

The pull tab includes a re-stick adhesive arranged in a single zone which adheres the piece of bundle wrap to cover the opening and the re-stick adhesive outward of the piece of bundle wrap allows the pull tab to reseal to the outer surface of the inner box.
