摘要: An underwater detection system that uses two remote vessels in proximity to an object of interest in order to accurately obtain a 3D image of that object. One of the vessels is stationary and includes a first transceiver and a vertical receiving array. The second vessel moves over a predetermined path and uses a transmitter to simultaneously send signals to both the transceiver of the first vessel and the object of interest. The signals are bounced off of the object of interest to the vertical receiving array. Various signals are convoluted to produce an accurate three-dimensional array and thus a three-dimensional image of the object of interest.

摘要: The invention is a method for obtaining linear measures of one or more parameters p.sub.m of a device having one or more input ports i and an output port where m takes on integer values from 1 to M, M being an integer equal to or greater than 1, and i takes on integer values from 1 to I, I being an integer equal to or greater than 1. The device causes one or more input signals G.sub.i (p.sub.m)E.sub.ei (t) fed into one or more input ports to be transformed into an output signal comprising a summation over i of G.sub.i (p.sub.m)H.sub.i (p.sub.m)E.sub.oi (t) at the output port. The function G.sub.i (p.sub.m) is a weighting function associated with the i'th input port, E.sub.ei (t) is an excitation signal associated with the i'th input port, and E.sub.oi (t) is the transformation of the excitation signal E.sub.ei (t) that results from E.sub.ei (t) traversing the path from the input port i to the output port. The signals E.sub.ei (t) and E.sub.oi (t) are both independent of the parameter p.sub.m. The product function G.sub.i (p.sub.m)H.sub.i (p.sub.m) is representable by a power series of order N.sub.im in p.sub.m, the value of N.sub.im depending on a specified accuracy of representation. The method comprising the steps (1) generating one or more linearizing weighting functions G.sub.il (p.sub.m) for which the output signal is a linear measure of the parameter p.sub.m to the specified accuracy of representation, (2) feeding the input signals G.sub.il (p.sub.m)E.sub.ei (t) into the device; and (3) using a component of the output signal as a linear measure of each of the one or more parameters p.sub.m.

摘要: A vibratory rotation sensor that utilizes non-capacitive mechanical displacement detectors (24) to detect the flexural standing wave pattern in a hemispherical resonator (14). In a preferred embodiment, a plurality of tunneling transducers (24) are positioned around the hemispherical resonator (14) to detect the standing wave. A "force-to-rebalance" mechanization mode is preferably used for calculating the sensor's rate of rotation, with a transducer (24) placement that allows for constant calibration of the sensor's scale factor. In addition, a pickoff transducer orientation is provided that allows for simultaneous calculation of the sensor's rotation angle and any linear acceleration that is exerted on the sensor's hemispherical resonator (14), thereby allowing the sensor to be simultaneously used as a rotation sensor and an accelerometer.

The method comprises applying a film of material onto one side of the panel, providing a mirror image of the sign visible on the film to a viewer on the one side of the panel, making cuts in the film corresponding to the mirror image and removing from the panel areas of the film so cut as to leave behind on the panel areas of the film forming the sign. The sign is intended to be seen from the other side of the panel.
