    Abstract: A method of deploying a stent-graft in a curved vessel includes deploying an expandable tip to center a proximal end of the catheter containing a stent-graft in the curved vessel. A sheath is retracted to expose the stent-graft and the stent-graft self-expands into the curved vessel. By centering the catheter containing the stent-graft prior to deployment with the expandable tip, the accuracy of stent graft placement within the curved vessel is improved.

    Abstract: A cable connector configured to couple a cable to another connector or piece of video or audio equipment may include a connector body, a nut, an annular post and a biasing element. The connector body may include a forward end and a rearward end, where the forward end is configured to connect to the second connector and the rearward end is configured to receive a coaxial cable. The nut may be rotatably coupled to the forward end of the connector body and the annular post may be disposed within the connector body. The annular post may also include an annular notch located at the forward end of the connector body. The biasing element may be located in the annular notch.

    Abstract: A coaxial cable connector generally includes a connector body, a nut rotatably coupled to the connector body, a post disposed in the connector body and a biasing element acting between the post and the nut. The nut has an internal thread for engagement with an external thread of a mating connector. The internal thread of the nut and the external thread of the mating connector can be mismatched, wherein an interference fit is created therebetween upon connection of the nut to the mating connector. Also, the post can have a forward flanged base portion disposed within the axial length of the internally threaded surface of the nut, which, together with the biasing element, provides a constant force between the post and the nut.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus for tunneling any existing data-, control-, or routing-related protocol through a generic Internet protocol (IP) transport are described. The method includes providing a generic messaging structure that includes at least a transport protocol, a message buffer, a source-address field and one or more data fields for transparent routing of a user protocol over the IP transport and also providing an application program interface to the generic messaging structure, the interface including a mechanism for a user to choose a desired transport and associated protocol for transparently routing the user protocol over the transport in accordance with the chosen transport protocol within the one or more data fields. Alternatively or additionally, the method includes creating a base class library including plural defined source and header files and further providing a mechanism for deriving a transaction-based protocol-specific class that is compatible with the base class library. The apparatus is an application programming interface (API), preferably coded in C/C++, for transparently routing data between sockets in such an IP transport. The API includes a message buffer data structure defining a protocol-generic parent class, message, source-address and data fields; a message creation mechanism for creating a message and adding it to the message buffer data structure; and a protocol creation mechanism for deriving a protocol-specific child class that renders new protocol-specific sub-fields of the protocol field of the message buffer data structure.

    Abstract: A variable valve actuation mechanism actuates a valve of an internal combustion engine. The mechanism includes an actuator with a housing and a piston each moveable along a longitudinal axis in the engine. A cavity is defined between the piston and the housing. A body of fluid is disposed in the cavity and in the reservoir. A fluid passage has an open position wherein the cavity and reservoir are in fluid communication and a closed position wherein the cavity is sealed. When the passage is closed, the housing and piston move generally together. When the passage is open, fluid may pass from the cavity to the reservoir and movement of the housing relative to the piston changes the volume of the cavity.

    Abstract: Disclosed in the present application is an apparatus 40 (FIGS. 1,2 and 3) for sharpening a router or shaper bit 12 (FIGS. 5, 5A, 5B) of the type having a flat cutting face 18. The apparatus 40 includes a chuck 64 holding the cutting bit 12. A grinding wheel 108 has a flat grinding face 110 and a grinding wheel shaft 116 (FIG. 2) on which the grinding wheel 108 rotates. A chuck support (vertical plate 60 and pivot plate 48, FIG. 1) supports the chuck 64 and positions it so that the bit cutting face 18 is in a plane parallel to and in front of the flat face 110 of the grinding wheel 108. An advancing means (side adjustment plate 46, FIGS. 1 and 2) moves the bit cutting face 18 into contact with the grinding wheel face 110 in a motion parallel to the grinding wheel shaft 116. The side adjustment plate 46 has an index means (dial 90, FIG. 2) by which the side adjustment plate 46 is moved incrementally, in small amounts, to move the cutting face 18 of bit 12 into and against the grinding wheel face 110 during the grinding process. Carriage plate 44 (FIG. 1) permits moving the bit 12 back and forth in a plane perpendicular to the grinding wheel shaft during the index movement of the cutting face 18. In an embodiment of the present invention, a laser 314 (FIGS. 6 and 7) directs a beam onto a mirror 318 affixed to the bit cutting face 28. The beam is reflected back to a pair of cross hairs positioned next to the laser to achieve parallel adjustment.
