摘要: A propulsion device for propelling vehicles such as skateboards and watercraft comprises an elongate rod formed of an elastic material. The elongate rod has an upper end and a lower end, the upper end being formed to be suitable for grasping by a human hand with a foot section being connected to the lower end. The foot section may have a non-skid surface for engaging a support surface so that a person can bend the elongate rod to store energy and then release the stored energy to use the propulsion device to propel a wheeled vehicle. The foot section may alternatively have a paddle extending therefrom so that a person can bend the elongate rod to store energy and then release the stored energy to use the propulsion device to propel a watercraft.

摘要: A media rack system is disclosed that generally includes a rack configured to receive a plurality of components that are selectively connected via a plurality of media, e.g., optical fibers or any other wired communication link. An exemplary system may further include one or more media loop retention housings, which include a spool configured to selectively support one of the media, and a media loop retainer defined by the spool. The media loop retainer includes a predetermined radius for selectively retaining a loop of the media. The predetermined radius is greater than or equal to a minimum bend radius associated with the fiber.

摘要: A round bale wrapping mechanism that employs a second roll of wrapping material that is mounted adjacent an active roll. The second roll is powered by an electric clutch that allows a belt drive connected between the first roll and the second roll to rotate the second roll of wrapping material. The wrapping material on the second roll thus feeds onto the wrapping material being fed from the active roll and if fed through the wrapping mechanism onto the bale before the active roll is exhausted of wrapping material.

摘要: The apparatus and methods in accordance with the present invention include systems in the form of computer software for creating a text-searchable data structure that includes electronic image documents. The system may be configured in modules. The system converts an electronic image document into a visually optimized electronic image document and into a detail optimized electronic image document. The system also includes an OCR engine that abstracts character information from the detail optimized electronic image document and writes the character information into a text file. The visually optimized electronic image document is linked with the text file in a data structure by the system. The resulting data structure, which may be an image over hidden text pdf document, may be searched using various text based search techniques. When specified text is located in a text file, the corresponding visually optimized electronic image document may then be presented to the searcher. The present invention also provides methods for creating a text searchable data structure containing electronic image documents. The method includes providing an electronic image document, generating a visually optimized electronic image document from the electronic image document, generating a detail optimized electronic image document from the electronic image document, using an optical character recognition engine to create a text file from the detail optimized electronic image document, and linking the visually optimized image with the text file in a data structure. The method may further include writing metadata to a metadata record in the data structure, and linking the metadata record with the text file and the visually optimized electronic image document in the data structure.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a fibrous substrate made of chemically bonded fibers, where the fibers are bound with a polymeric binder in an amount which is sufficient to bind the fibers together to form a self-sustaining web, and where the binder is characterized as having a wet tensile strength of greater than 4500 grams per inch (g/in) when measured at a 20 percent add-on on Whatman #4 CHR chromatography paper which is drum dried for 90 seconds at 210 to 215° F. and cured for 2 minutes at 300 to 325° F. Preferably the level of free formaldehyde in the fibrous substrate is less than 15 ppm. The emulsion binders of the invention may be used to bind fibers together in a substrate; may be used to bind pigment, colors or other substances to a substrate; may be used as a backing material; or may be used to finish or surface-treat a substrate. Because of the high level of crosslinking, substrates bound, or treated with the emulsion polymer have excellent wet strength and good durability/weatherability and water/solvent resistance.

摘要: Implementations of a method for associating a charitable donation with a discounted transaction include, providing a certificate asociated with a discount for at least one vendor to a customer, receiving notification of a discounted transaction using the certificate, and determining a charitable donation associated with the discounted transaction. In other implementations, a method for associating a charitable donation with a discounted transaction includes generating certificates associated with a vendor. The certificates have a face value usable in exchanges with the vendor. The method further includes selling the certificates to at least one customer at a price less than the face value. The method also includes determining a charitable donation associated with the sale of each certificate based at least in part on either the face value of the certificate sold or the price of the certificate sold. Implementations of a system for associating a charitable donation with a discounted transaction include an intermediary providing certificates to customers.
