摘要： A gasket and washing machine having the same prevent laundry from becoming wedged between a drum and a gasket for preventing water leakage. The gasket is coupled between a cabinet of a drum-type washing machine including a drying duct for providing a drying function and a tub disposed inside the cabinet. The gasket includes an annular lip, protruding inwardly from an inner circumference of the gasket, for preventing foreign matter from entering a space existing between the tub and a rotating drum, and a laundry kicker, protruding inwardly from a predetermined portion of the annular lip, for dislodging laundry that has become wedged between the annular lip and the rotating drum.

The top plate for a washing machine includes a board covering a top of the washing machine, a front frame provided to a front side edge of the board to enhance a structural strength of the board, a rear frame provided to a rear side edge of the board to enhance the structural strength of the board, at least one connecting member provided to adjoining portions of the front and rear frames to secure the adjoining portions together, and at least one fixing guide spaced apart from the at least one connecting member, the at least one fixing guide providing a slip-fit connection between the front and rear frames.

This system allows the door to be opened only if there is no water in the washing tub, or if the water level in the tub is very low, so as to prevent water in the tub from cascading out of the washing machine when the door is opened. A water level in the washing tub is sensed, and the sensed water level is compared to a reference water level. The door is locked or unlocked based on the comparison of the sensed water level and the reference water level.

摘要： A system and method for controlling a hot water wash cycle in a washing machine is provided. The method includes supplying water to the washing machine, and determining a water level in the washing machine. When the water level reaches a heating water level at which a heating unit is submerged, the heating unit is turned on to heat the water while water continues to be supplied to the washing machine. When the water level reaches a washing water level and the water in the washing machine is at a washing water temperature, the heating unit is turned off and a wash cycle associated with a selected washing condition may be initiated. By turning on the heating unit as soon as it is submerged, wash time may be reduced.

摘要： A tub protection bolt for a washing machine is disclosed for fixing a tub to a cabinet for the washing machine. The tub protection bolt includes a screwed shaft configured to penetrate a cabinet of the washing machine to be coupled with a boss of a tub and a head part at one end of the screwed shaft having a narrow cut-away portion configured to hold a power cable of the washing machine. The head part includes a head at the one end of the screwed shaft, a flange extending outward from an outer circumference of the head, and the narrow cut-away portion provided from an outer circumference of the flange toward the head. The cut-away portion includes an insertion portion provided from the outer circumference of the flange in a direction of a center of the head and a fixing portion bent from an end of the insertion portion.

摘要： A filter assembly for a washing machine is provided which uses a simple structure to separate dirt and/or particles from washing water using. The filter assembly includes a filter case with an inlet and an outlet each positioned along its circumference, and an opening within the filler case which allows for communication between the inlet and outlet. A filter is provided in the filter case, the filter having a plate disposed in front of the opening to prevent particles from passing through the opening. Rather, the heavy particles are gathered in a central area of the filter by a centrifugal force generated by the water flowing in the filter case.
