    摘要: When a print process is started, discharge speed of recording papers is first set to a first discharge speed set based on the case in which a recording paper receiving unit for placing recording papers is in a reference state. Then, when a record instruction is given for starting a process of recording images onto recording papers, it is determined whether or not the recording paper receiving unit is in the reference state. If it is determined that the recording paper receiving unit is in an extended state in which the recording paper receiving unit is extended from the reference state, the discharge speed of the recording papers is set to a second discharge speed that is faster than the first discharge speed. Then, following a paper feed operation and an image record operation, the recording papers are discharged according to the set discharge speed.

    摘要: The invention provides a molecular affinity clamp. The architecture of the affinity clamp is modular with two biorecognition modules, each capable of binding a target motif. The first biorecognition module has a recognition domain that possesses inherent or natural specificity for the target motif. The second biorecognition module also has a recognition domain that binds the motif. The two biorecognition modules are tethered together either directly, e.g., via a peptide bond between the two modules, or indirectly, e.g., via a linker moiety or linker. The invention further provides a novel affinity ligand which is specifically bound by the molecular affinity clamps of the invention.

    摘要: An image-forming apparatus is capable of performing a non-margin recording operation without a margin on a recording medium and providing a waiting time between a moment of termination of a movement of a carriage in one of opposite directions and a moment of initiation of a subsequent movement of the carriage in the other direction, if the non-margin recording operation is performed during the movement of the carriage in the above-indicated one direction. The carriage is moved in the other direction (returned) at a speed lower than that of the movement in the above-indicated one direction, so that the back surface of an edge portion (e.g., leading end portion) of the recording medium is protected from contamination with an ink mist produced from the ink droplets. The waiting time and the return speed of the carriage can be manually selected or changed by using an operator's control panel, so that the non-margin recording operation can be performed in a desired manner (in a high-image-quality mode or a high-speed mode).
