摘要: A maintenance mechanism for an ink jet printer is configured in such a manner that a claw member (7) for locking a slide member (6) during wiping operation is swingably supported on a base member (5) which is fixed to an apparatus body so that the claw member (7) does not move to the left and right, and the claw member (7) is forced downward by guided projecting parts (6a) provided on the slide member (6) during a print job so that the claw member (7) does not interfere with a carriage (2) which moves back and forth along a main scanning direction across a printing area.

摘要: Sheets of recording paper are stacked and put on a push-up plate, and the uppermost recording paper is moved by pickup rollers and is separated by separation pawls. The separated recording paper is further moved by the pickup rollers so as to be carried out to the conveyance path between an upper guide and a lower guide. Notches are provided in those regions of the lower guide which correspond to the corner parts of the recording paper. Owing to the notches, the corner parts of the recording paper deformed by the separation pawls do not come into touch with the lower guide, so that the bending and jamming of the recording paper can be prevented from occurring.

摘要: An object of the invention is to provide a less costly print head maintenance mechanism featuring a compact, simple construction and negating the need for a widthwise increase of space for permitting vertical movement of the print head maintenance mechanism. The mechanism is designed to utilize the rotation of first cams and second cams for switching cap holders and wiper holders to a printing mode position for permitting a normal printing operation, a capping mode position for sealing a nozzle surface at a print head with the cap, and a wiping mode position for cleaning by wiping the nozzle surface with the wiper.

摘要: A head driving mechanism for driving a recording head for a recording apparatus, includes a cylindrical head slide shaft, a head carriage formed with a circular bore so as to be slidably and rotatably fitted, at the circular bore, around the head slide shaft. A prismatic cam shaft which is engageable with the head carriage is also provided for rotating the head carriage, and an elastic member and a solenoid are provided for urging the cam shaft in opposite directions. Upon energization of the solenoid, the cam shaft is rotated in a direction such that the recording head is selectively depressed against a platen by a driving force of the solenoid and upon de-energization of the solenoid the cam shaft is rotated by an urging force of the elastic member such that the recording head is disengaged from the platen.
