Abstract:
A speaker system has a speaker unit with a vibration plate of a corn type, a horn and a diffuser. The horn is disposed such that a small-diameter opening thereof is positioned inward from a front opening of the vibration plate, and an outer surface of the horn is arranged along an inner surface of the vibration plate from the small-diameter opening to form a first acoustic path. The diffuser has a base portion, a front end portion and an outer peripheral surface extending therebetween, and is disposed such that the base portion is positioned inward from a front opening of the horn and opposed to the small-diameter opening of the horn. The diffuser has a specific shape such that the outer peripheral surface expands along an inner surface of the horn from the base portion to form a second acoustic path. The expanding outer peripheral surface of the diffuser is then narrowed toward the front end portion of the diffuser.
Abstract:
A wide dispersion speaker system 1 comprises a cone type speaker unit 2, and a restricting element 10A. The restricting element 10A is provided with a center hole 11 at a center section thereof, and a peripheral hole 12 located outward relative to the center hole 11. The restricting element 10A has an annular sound travel inhibiting portion 19 positioned radially outward relative to the center hole 11 and radially inward relative to the peripheral hole 12. An outer end in a radial direction of the sound travel inhibiting portion 19 is positioned at a substantially middle point between an outer end in the radial direction of the center hole 11 and an outer end in the radial direction of the peripheral hole 12 or positioned radially outward relative to the substantially middle point.
Abstract:
A loudspeaker apparatus 1 includes a loudspeaker unit 3 and an installation device 2. The loudspeaker unit 3 includes drivers 22 and 23 and an enclosure for the drivers composed of front and rear members 20 and 21. The loudspeaker unit is detachably mounted to an installation device 2, which, in turn, is secured to an installation surface 11 to which the loudspeaker apparatus is to be installed. The loudspeaker unit is mounted rotatable about its center axis 25. The drivers have respective sound radiation center axes 22a and 23a, which are oriented to intersect the center line 25 at a predetermined angle &thgr;. Thus, the direction in which the drivers radiate sound can be changed by rotating the loudspeaker unit about the center axis.
