Abstract:
Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for altering the color of hair comprising a first mixture comprising from about 1% to about 50% of at least one starch, from about 1% to about 50% of at least one liquid fatty substance and from about 0.5% to about 40% of at least one silica material, and a second mixture comprising from about 1% to about 40% of at least one oxidizing agent, from about 0.5% to about 30% of at least one acrylic polymer and from about 0.1% to about 10% of at least one chelant compound.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a powder composition containing an alkaline material comprising hydroxide-containing compounds, a carbonate compound, a starch, a silica material, a liquid fatty substance, an acrylic polymer, wax, and a chelant compound. When the powder composition is mixed with an aqueous composition, a ready to use composition for relaxing or straightening hair is formed.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a cosmetic composition for altering the color of hair containing a fatty substance; an acrylic polymer selected from crosslinked copolymers of (meth)acrylic acid and/or (C1-C6)alkyl esters and from acrylic associative polymers; a salt selected from an ammonium salt other than an ammonium acetate salt, a quaternary ammonium salt, a quaternary diammonium salt, an alkaline earth metal salt, a transition metal salt, an alkali metal salt other than an alkali metal phosphate salt, an agmatine salt, and mixtures thereof; and a cosmetically acceptable solvent; and optionally, a colorant compound. Also disclosed is a process for altering the color of hair and depositing color onto hair wherein a composition comprising the cosmetic composition and an oxidizing composition containing an oxidizing agent is applied onto hair.
Abstract:
A method for mixing substances for the treatment of keratinous substrates may comprise separating a paperboard packaging container into at least two portions. The method may also comprise removing at least two containers containing differing substances from the paperboard packaging container and mixing the at least two substances together in one of the at least two separated portions of the paperboard packaging container so as to form a mixture of the at least two substances for the treatment of keratinous substrates. The method may further comprise applying the mixture to a keratinous substrate.
