Abstract: An electroluminescence display apparatus includes a substrate including a plurality of subpixel areas including an emission area and a non-emission area surrounding the emission area and a cathode contact area located on at least one side between the plurality of subpixel areas, a planarization layer disposed on the substrate and configured to overlap each of the emission area and the cathode contact area, a light emitting device disposed on the planarization layer and configured to overlap the emission area, and including a pixel electrode and a cathode electrode facing the pixel electrode, and a cathode contact electrode formed on the planarization layer and formed to overlap at least a portion of the non-emission area, wherein the cathode contact electrode includes one side surface exposed toward the cathode contact area, and the cathode electrode is in contact with the one side surface of the cathode contact electrode.

Abstract: A light emitting display device comprises a substrate, a circuit layer having a thin film transistor and an auxiliary power electrode disposed on the substrate, an insulating layer disposed on the circuit layer and including a first opening which exposes a portion of the auxiliary power electrode, a pixel electrode disposed on the insulating layer and connected to the thin film transistor, an auxiliary electrode contact area formed in the insulating layer, an auxiliary electrode formed on the insulating layer, a light emitting layer disposed on the pixel electrode and the auxiliary electrode, a common electrode disposed on the light emitting layer and electrically connected with the auxiliary power electrode through the auxiliary electrode contact area, a filler disposed in the auxiliary electrode contact area, and an encapsulation layer disposed on the common electrode and the filler, wherein the first opening of the insulating layer includes an undercut area between the auxiliary power electrode and the auxiliary electrode, and wherein the undercut area is filled with the filler.

Abstract: An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display device is described that includes a shared cathode between OLED pixels as well as auxiliary lines that are formed between rows and/or columns of the OLED pixels. As the cathode is shared between many if not all of the pixels of display device, resistance within the cathode can affect the brightness of those pixels that are further from the cathode's voltage source. The auxiliary lines serve to counteract the voltage drop caused by this resistance. The auxiliary lines are electrically connected to the cathode in close proximity to individual pixels of the display.
