摘要: The present invention provides methods for producing a viral vector comprising a membrane protein that binds to sialic acid as a component of the envelope, using neuraminidase (NA) derived from Gram-positive bacteria. The methods comprise the steps of culturing cells producing a viral vector in the presence of an NA from Gram-positive bacteria, and recovering the produced virus. The methods of this invention enable the production of high titer virus at high cost performance. Such a viral vector is capable of transferring genes at high efficiency into cells such as blood cells and hematopoietic cells, including hematopoietic stem cells, and mucous cells including mucoepithelial cells, those not amenable to gene transfer by conventional methods, and therefore should be useful as a vector for gene therapy.

摘要: A numerical controller capable of performing synchronous control of a master axis and a slave axis in different control systems at a desired ratio and with a desired relation in phase. A workpiece attached to a master axis of a first system is machined into a first gear by a rotary tool attached to a slave axis of the first system and machined into a second gear by a rotary tool attached to a slave axis of a second system. Synchronous motion amounts of the slave axes are obtained by multiplying a motion amount of the master axis by set synchronous ratios to be converted into motion amounts of the slave axes. The synchronous motion amounts are added to the motion commands for the slave axes to drive the slave axes, so that the slave axes are driven at the set ratios in synchronism with the master axis. Further, the motion commands for the slave axes are compensated such that positional phases of the slave axes have set relations with respect to a positional phase of the master axis.

摘要: In a solar energy generator including a solar battery a microcomputer for controlling at least a boosting circuit and an inverter circuit so that AC power suitably usable as the AC power of a commercial power supply system can be supplied to the commercial power supply system, the power to be supplied to the various kinds of equipment of the solar energy generator is selectively supplied from one of the solar battery and the commercial power supply system. The microcomputer stores the operational status data of the solar energy generator into an external storage device, and these data can be used for maintenance or trouble shooting of the solar energy generator.

摘要: On the outer periphery of a bearing 10 for supporting a worm 71 rotating interlocked with the rotation of a steering assist motor 6 inside the housing 8, elastic members 20 are provided to restrain the bearing 10 from moving in the radial direction thereof. The force for the restraint by the elastic members 20 is made different depending on the position in the peripheral direction thereof. A portion of the elastic member, wherein the force for restraining the movement of the bearing 10 in the radial direction is small, energizes the worm 71 to the meshing position of the worm 71 and a worm wheel 72. Another portion, wherein the force for restraining the movement is large, restrains the worm 71 from moving along the lead of the worm wheel 72. With this configuration, the elastic members 20 can reduce the amount of the backlash at the meshing portion of the worm 71 and the worm wheel 72, and can make the rotation torque applied to the meshing portion of the worm gears relatively small.

摘要: When a steering wheel is relatively quickly turned at the time of parking, before a first stopper mechanism located between an input shaft and an output shaft is operated, an elastic member 47 attached to a movement end of a rack shaft 13 comes into contact with a rack stopper 39 of a rack housing 14, thereby absorbing the impact at the time of steering at parking. That is, the strike speed when contact portions of the first stopper mechanism are brought into contact with each other, is slowed down. Accordingly, the uncomfortable noise due to the strike sound is not given to the driver.

摘要: A vibrating compressor which may be employed in refrigerators is provided which includes an elastic mechanism designed to produce reaction against movement of a piston through a moving mechanism such as an electric motor to oscillate the piston to change the volume of a compression chamber. The elastic mechanism consists of a plurality of discs connecting at the center with the piston. Each of the discs has slits curved in a scroll fashion to form spring arms. The discs are laid to overlap each other and shifted in angular position from each other so that the arms of one of the discs coincide with the slits of adjacent one of the discs, thereby avoiding direct contact of the arms of adjacent two of the discs.

摘要: A plate-shaped article is immersed in a cleaning liquid filling a cleaning bath having an overflowing surface through which the cleaning liquid flows out, and is rinsed out. In the cleaning bath, streams mostly being directed away from a predetermined plane approximately perpendicular to the overflowing surface are formed. The plate-shaped article is then brought into the cleaning liquid having the stream maintaining a state where the plate-shaped article intersects the predetermined plane and the surfaces of the plate-shaped article are in approximately parallel to the streams mostly being directed away from the predetermined plane on the surface of the cleaning liquid.

摘要: An implant for an injured tendon of a digitus manus having a tube-shaped body with obliquely angled opposite ends made of a macromolecule polyvinyl alcohol family having characteristics of a long life to a living organism and a low reactivity to a foreign body, for example, macromolecule polyvinyl alcohol hydrogel. An injured tendon of a digitus manus is inserted into and passed through inside of the implant so as to function for suture and cure of the injured tendon, and for convalescence such as preventing the sutured tendon from coalescing with its ambient living organism. More specifically, since the sutured portion of the tendon is inserted into and surrounded by the implant, coalescence of the sutured portion of the tendon with the ambient skin is prevented and soft tissue does not get hurt because of the moisture contents of the implant, thereby to avoid dysfunction.
