摘要： The present disclosure addressed apparatus and methods for forming an annular isolator in a borehole after installation of production tubing. Annular seal means are carried in or on production tubing as it is run into a borehole. In conjunction with expansion of the tubing, the seal is deployed to form an annular isolator. An inflatable element carried on the tubing may be inflated with a fluid carried in the tubing and forced into the inflatable element during expansion of the tubing. Reactive chemicals may be carried in the tubing and injected into the annulus to react with each other and ambient fluids to increase in volume and harden into an annular seal. An elastomeric sleeve, ring or band carried on the tubing may be expanded into contact with a borehole wall and may have its radial dimension increased in conjunction with tubing expansion to form an annular isolator.

摘要： Methods and acidizing compositions for reducing the corrosion of the metal surfaces of tubular goods and the like and reducing the precipitation of metal sulfide from the acidizing compositions are provided. The methods basically comprise the steps of combining an aldol-amine adduct with an aqueous acid solution to preferentially react with sulfide ions subsequently dissolved by the aqueous acid solution and thereby prevent subsequently dissolved metal ions from reacting therewith and precipitating, and then introducing the aqueous acid solution containing the aldol-amine adduct into a well or other location to be acidized.

摘要： Methods and compositions for controlling iron in aqueous well fracturing fluids are disclosed. In accordance with the methods, ferric iron contained in a fracturing fluid is prevented from precipitating or otherwise disadvantageously reacting by adding a thioalkyl acid or derivative thereof to the fracturing fluid. The thioalkyl acid or derivative reduces ferric ion to ferrous ion which remains in solution at pH levels below about 7.5.
