    Abstract: The present application relates to a battery cell and an electronic device. The battery cell according to an embodiment comprises: an electrode assembly, including an electrode plate; and a shell, receiving the electrode assembly and including a first edge seal, a second edge seal and a circular edge seal connecting the first edge seal and the second edge seal, wherein the circular edge seal defines a virtual circular arc region with a radius R and a radian angle Ø, wherein the electrode plate has a first edge, a second edge, and a third edge connecting the first edge and the second edge, and a virtual extension line of the first edge and a virtual extension line of the second edge intersect to form a virtual intersection point A; a point on the third edge has a minimum distance L relative to the virtual intersection point A; and the virtual extension lines of the first edge and the second edge form a corner at the virtual intersection point A toward the third edge, and an angle of the corner is greater than 0 degrees and less than 180 degrees. The battery cell and the electronic device provided by the present application have higher safety performance, a higher space utilization ratio and a higher energy density.

    Abstract: The present application provides a wound electrode assembly, comprising a first and second electrode plates having a first and second current collectors respectively, the first electrode plate has an empty foil segment having an area where the first electrode plate is bent for the first time, and the second electrode plate has a second head segment; the second current collector in the second head segment is coated with active substance on both sides, and projections of a starting end and an ending end of the empty foil segment in a thickness direction fall on the second head segment. The purpose of the present application is to provide a wound electrode assembly to effectively avoid lithium dendrite while improving the utilization of the battery material and the energy density of the battery, thereby improving the safety performance of the battery.

    Abstract: An electrolyte including a dinitrile compound, a trinitrile compound, and propyl propionate. Based on the total weight of the electrolyte, the content X of the nitrile compound and the content Y of the trinitrile compound meet the conditions represented by Formula (1) and Formula (2): {about 2 wt %≤(X+Y)≤about 11 wt % . . . (1), about 0.1≤(X/Y)≤about 8 . . . (2)}. The electrolyte further includes at least one selected from the group consisting of a cyclic carbonate ester having a carbon-carbon double bond, a fluorinated chain carbonate ester, a fluorinated cyclic carbonate ester, and a compound having a sulfur-oxygen double bond. The electrolyte is capable of effectively inhibiting the increase in DC internal resistance of an electrochemical device so that the electrochemical device has excellent cycle and storage performance.

    Abstract: The embodiments of the present application provides a wound electrode assembly formed by winding a first electrode sheet, a second electrode sheet, and an isolating membrane disposed therebetween. The wound electrode assembly includes: a first surface having a first protrusion in the thickness direction of the wound electrode assembly; a first wound electrode assembly; a second wound electrode assembly wrapping the first wound electrode assembly, the first wound electrode assembly and the second wound electrode assembly sharing the first electrode sheet and the second electrode sheet; an adhesive layer disposed between the first electrode sheet and the isolating membrane, and/or between the second electrode sheet and the isolating membrane. The purpose of the present application is at least to provide a wound electrode assembly capable of reducing the risk of misalignment of the internal structures of the electrode assembly during the falling, and retaining the shape of the electrode assembly.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a wound-type electrode assembly comprising a first and second electrode plates, a first and second electrode tabs, and a separator. The first and second electrode plates include a first current collector and active substance layer, and a second current collector and active substance layer. Two surfaces of the first current collector of the first winding start section of the first electrode plate are not coated with first active substance layer and defined as a first start blank current collector, the first start blank current collector is welded to a first electrode tab. The second pole piece comprises a second groove, a bottom of which is a second current collector and a circumference thereof is a second active substance layer; the second electrode tab is accommodated in the second groove and electrically connected to the second current collector at the second groove.
