Abstract: Systems and methods for supporting SMP connectivity checks across virtual router in a high performance computing environment. In accordance with an embodiment, SMA model enhancements allow for the possibility to send a packet (i.e., SMP) that is addressed to a local router port. The SMA where the packet is addressed can receive the packet, and then apply a new attribute that defines that the requested information is on a remote node (e.g., connected by a physical link across subnets). In accordance with an embodiment, the SMA can operate as a proxy (receives a SMP and sends another request), or the SMA can modify the original packet and send it on as an inter-subnet packet.

Abstract: A system and method support can subnet management in a cloud environment. During a virtual machine migration in a cloud environment, a subnet manager can become a bottleneck point that delays efficient service. A system and method can alleviate this bottleneck point by ensuring a virtual machine retains a plurality of addresses after migration. The system and method can further allow for each host node within the cloud environment to be associated with a local cache that virtual machines can utilize when re-establishing communication with a migrated virtual machine.

Abstract: Systems and methods for using a virtual machine fabric profiles to reduce virtual machine downtime during migration. An exemplary embodiment can provide a subnet manager (SM) and a virtual machine fabric profile that is accessible by the subnet manager, and where the virtual machine fabric profile includes a virtual host channel adapter (vHCA) configuration. The SM can receive a request to preregister the vHCA with a first physical host channel adapter (HCA) while the vHCA is already actively registered with a second physical HCA. The subnet manager can send the vHCA configuration to the first physical HCA for preregistration. After preregistration, the virtual link between the vHCA and a vSwitch of the first physical HCA can be left unestablished, until the SM determines that a virtual link between the vHCA and a vSwitch on the second physical HCA has been disconnected.

Abstract: A system and method for supporting load balancing in a multi-tenant cluster environment, in accordance with an embodiment. One or more tenants can be supported and each associated with a partition, which are each in turn associated with one or more end nodes. Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for supporting efficient reconfiguration of an interconnection network having a pre-existing routing comprising. An exemplary method can provide, a plurality of switches, the plurality switches comprising at least one leaf switch, wherein each of the one or more switches comprise a plurality of ports, and a plurality of end nodes, wherein the plurality of end nodes are interconnected via the one or more switches. The method can detect, by a subnet manager, a reconfiguration triggering event. The method can compute, by the subnet manager, a new routing for the interconnection network, wherein the computing by the subnet manager of the new routing for the interconnection network takes into consideration the pre-existing routing and selects the new routing for the interconnection network that is closest to the pre-existing routing. The method can reconfigure the interconnection network according to the new routing.

Abstract: System and method for correlating fabric-level group membership with subnet-level partition membership in a high performance computing environment. An exemplary embodiment can provide an admin partition in a subnet of a network environment, associated with a resource domain at the fabric level of the network environment. The admin partition can be defined by a P_Key that is stored in a fabric-level database. Each fabric resource is identified by an identifier that is stored in the fabric-level database. When fabric resources are added as members to the resource domain, a relationship is created between the P_Key and the identifier of the fabric resource, where the relationship defines the resource as a member of the admin partition. Access rights can be granted based on the relationship.

Abstract: Systems and methods for host-side configuration of a host channel adapter (HCA). An exemplary embodiment can provide a HCA, including a control circuit with a processor and a memory, and at least one port operative to connect the HCA to a network fabric. Additionally, the HCA can include a subnet management agent (SMA) that executes on the HCA, and a software driver for the HCA that includes a control application programming interface (API) that exposes functionality to hyper-privileged software executing on a host. The hyper-privileged software can set, through the control API, configurable variables stored in the memory of the HCA. Based on the value of the set variables, the HCA can operate in one of a legacy mode or one or more other modes.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing default multicast local identifier values per subnet partition as additional subnet management agent attributes in a high performance computing environment. In accordance with an embodiment, a single multicast local identifier can be associated with multiple multicast group identifiers when the multiple multicast group identifiers are associated with a same subnet partition. A relationship between the partition key table of the node and the default multicast local identifier table of the nod can map default assigned multicast local identifiers to relevant partitions.

The methods and systems can sort the plurality of end nodes, wherein the plurality of end nodes are sorted in a decreasing order of a receive weight. Abstract: System and method for monitoring logical network traffic flows using a ternary content addressable memory (TCAM). An exemplary embodiment can provide a network port that is associated with a TCAM. The TCAM can be configured with a plurality of entries, wherein each TCAM entry contains a value. Further, each TCAM entry can be associated with at least one network counter. A predefined set of values can be retrieved from at least one header field of a data packet processed by the network port. Each value in the predefined set of values can be aggregated into a search value, and the search value can be compared to the value contained in each TCAM entry. When a match is found between the search value and the value contained in a TCAM entry, each network counter associated with the matching TCAM entry can be incremented.
