    摘要: An apparatus for inserting and/or removing a connector with a remote connector agent are disclosed. Embodiments may include a remote connector agent apparatus having a main body forming a connector cavity and one or more insertion snap pushers each having a lower surface. The insertion snap pushers may move outward during insertion of a connector into the connector cavity and move inward after insertion of the connector so that the snap pusher lower surfaces rest on a lip of the connector after insertion. Embodiments may also include a retraction holder ledge to support the lip of the inserted connector during retraction and a connector snap release actuator to pivot a snap of the inserted connector in response to a pulling force on the remote connector agent. The insertion snap pushers and the retraction holder ledge may have a float distance between them larger than the lip height.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for securing a heat sink against a central processing unit. The present invention teaches a heat sink securement device having a vertical retention arm that substantially encompasses a heat sink in a vertical direction, a horizontal retention arm that substantially encompasses a heat sink in a horizontal direction, and a tension arm coupled to the vertical and horizontal retention arms and pivotally coupled to the frame, the tension arm simultaneously adjusts a tension on the vertical retention arm and the horizontal retention arm in response to moving the tension arm. In certain embodiments, the retention arms are coupled to the tension arm via coupling member that is offset from pivot point of the tension arm. In other embodiments, the coupling member may include a different coupling member for the vertical and horizontal retention arms, both coupling members offset from the pivot point.

    摘要: A printed circuit board is configured as a daughterboard to include at least one lever pivotable between open and closed positions. The lever applies leverage to a card guide structure to selectively urge the daughterboard into or out of engagement with a connector of a motherboard. A manually operable pivotable latch member is mounted on the daughterboard for selectively retaining the lever(s) in a closed position. The latch member may be spring biased so that it maintains the lever(s) in the closed position and returns to a latch position after being manually pivoted to release the lever(s). The lever(s) may be spring biased toward the open position. An optical switch may be provided on the daughterboard to sense whether the lever is in a closed position, and to responsively interrupt power and/or bus signals to the daughterboard when the lever is not sensed in the closed position.

    摘要: An information control panel and hinge member is removably joined together as a single unit to a retractable shuttle device utilized with computer servers or processor-based devices. The shuttle device having a first central opening with plural spaced apart detent grooves positioned thereabout. The hinge member includes a second central opening with plural spaced apart tabs positioned thereabout. A screw fastening element positioned through the first and second openings to directly and rotatably secure the hinge member relative to the shuttle device. A latch release means permits the single unit to be easily positioned in plural horizontal and vertical orientation positions that moves between selective ranges of 0 degrees to 90 degrees as the tabs moves relative to the detent grooves. Also, at least a stop member is located on the hinge member adjacent one of the tabs to stop the single unit at the minimum and extreme orientation positions.
