    Abstract: An optical device includes a first backlight configured to output first light of a first wavelength through a first output coupler, a first lens disposed to face the first output coupler and having a focal length with respect to the first light, a second backlight including a second output coupler, the second backlight being configured to output second light of a second wavelength through the second output coupler, a second lens disposed to face the second output coupler and having different focal lengths with respect to the first light and the second light, a third backlight including a third output coupler, the third backlight being configured to output third light of a third wavelength through the third output coupler, and a third lens disposed to face the third output coupler and having different focal lengths with respect to the first light, the second light, and the third light.

    Abstract: Provided is a holographic display apparatus including a light source configured to emit light; a spatial light modulator configured to sequentially generate hologram patterns for modulating the light and to sequentially reproduce frames of hologram images based on the hologram patterns; and a controller configured to provide hologram data signals to the spatial light modulator, the hologram data signals being used to sequentially generate the hologram patterns. The controller is configured to further provide, to the spatial light modulator, diffraction pattern data signals for forming periodic diffraction patterns for adjusting locations of the hologram images to be reproduced on a hologram image plane, the diffraction pattern data signals being configured to move the periodic diffraction patterns on the spatial light modulator along a predetermined direction for each of the frames.

    Abstract: A holographic display device includes a light source configured to emit light, the light including first light of a first wavelength, second light of a second wavelength, and third light of a third wavelength; a spatial light modulator configured to form a holographic pattern to modulate the light emitted from the light source and to produce a holographic image; and a focusing optical system configured to focus the holographic image. The focusing optical system includes a fixed-focus optical system having a fixed focal length, and a variable focus optical system having a focal length that is changed by electrical control. The fixed-focus optical system is configured to focus the first light of the first wavelength, the second light of the second wavelength, and the third light of the third wavelength on different positions, respectively, on an optical axis to cancel a chromatic aberration by the variable focus optical system.
