    Abstract: A light-emitting device of a transmissive type includes, as subpixels, a red subpixel including a red light-emitting layer, a green subpixel including a green light-emitting layer, and a blue subpixel including a blue light-emitting layer arranged in parallel with one another. The display light-emitting device includes an opaque region that overlaps at least the red subpixel and the green subpixel, each in its entirety, in a plan view and blocks background light, and a transparent region that overlaps at least a portion of the blue subpixel in a plan view and transmits background light.

    Abstract: A technique is provided that improves the efficiency of electron and hole injection in a light-emitting element containing quantum dots in a light-emitting layer thereof and hence improves the luminous efficiency thereof The light-emitting element includes on a substrate: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; a quantum-dot layer between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, the quantum-dot layer including a stack of a plurality of luminous, first quantum dots and a plurality of non-luminous, second quantum dots; a hole transport layer between the positive electrode and the quantum-dot layer; and an electron transport layer between the negative electrode and the quantum-dot layer, the plurality of second quantum dots being more numerous in an electron transport layer side than in a hole transport layer side.

    Abstract: A light-emitting device includes a first sub-pixel provided with a first light emitter, and a second sub-pixel provided with a second light emitter and constituting, together with the first sub-pixel, one of a plurality of pixels. The first light emitter has a first cathode, a first anode, and a first light-emitting layer containing a first quantum dot and disposed between the first cathode and the first anode. The second light emitter has a second cathode, a second anode, and a second light-emitting layer containing a second quantum dot and disposed between the second cathode and the second anode. The second quantum dot emits light having a longer light-emission wavelength than the first quantum dot. The first light-emitting layer is thicker than the second light-emitting layer.
