    Abstract: Systems and methods of using a multiport assembly and associated components are disclosed. The multiport assembly can include a multiport device that communicatively couples multiple sets or pairs of connectors, such as optical connectors or electrical connectors, together. The multiport assembly can also include an auxiliary port device that couples to the multiport device to expand the capacity of the multiport assembly. Both the multiport and auxiliary port devices can be selectively configured to receive specific types of connectors by selectively coupling to different types of adapters, where the types of adapters correspond to the types of connectors. When coupled to the multiport or auxiliary port devices, the adapters facilitate the formation of the communication between its corresponding set of connectors.

    Abstract: A lockable dust cap is inserted over a proximal end of an adapter assembly. The lockable dust cap has locking arms that secured the dust cap hub to the proximal end of the adapter assembly, and a grip portion that when rotated from an unlocked “0” or locked “1” position the dust cap is secured at the proximal end of the adapter. The dust cap is ingress protected with a seal and polymer shroud that covers the proximal end of the adapter. This helps to prevent moisture or debris ingress into the adapter assembly.

    Abstract: In an ingress-protected fiber optic connector assembly, an optical fiber plug mates with a receptacle at a bulkhead adapter and an ingress-protected housing assembly couples to the bulkhead adapter to enclose the optical fiber plug. The ingress-protected housing includes an outer housing and a compressible cable seal. The outer housing is rotatable to advance the outer housing, simultaneously compressing the compressible cable seal and fastening the housing assembly to the bulkhead adapter. The outer housing can have a plurality coupling positions at which the cable seal is compressed with a different amount of compression force. A non-sealing cable clamp can transfer tension on the cable to the bulkhead adapter.

    Abstract: A fiber optic connector kit includes a fiber optic connector, a plug frame, a first front body and a second front body. The fiber optic connector has a back body and a ferrule. The plug frame attaches to the back body of the fiber optic connector, and has a plug frame connector. The first and second front bodies matingly connect with first and a second types of fiber optic receptacles, respectively. The first front body includes a first front body connector that connects to the plug frame connector to connect the first front body to the plug frame. The second front body includes a second front body connector that connects to the plug frame connector to connect the second front body to the plug frame.
