    Abstract: A voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) includes an LC tank circuit coupled between a supply terminal, a first node and a second node. A pair of cross coupled transistors is coupled to the first node and the second node. A degeneration inductor, center tapped to a ground terminal, is coupled to the pair of cross coupled transistors configured to inductively degenerate each of the pair of cross coupled transistors and configured to resonate a source capacitance of each of the pair of cross coupled transistors. The VCO is configured to be having a low phase noise with high quality factor using inductive degeneration.
