摘要： A catheter guide wire is provided for guiding a catheter into a body cavity such as a blood vessel. The base material constituting the wire is made of an elastic alloy wire and subjected to a heat treatment such that its flexibility is sequentially increased from its proximal to distal end portions. A thermoplastic resin or/and a coil spring can be applied to at least the distal end portion of the wire base material. A method of manufacturing the catheter guide wire is also provided. The method is characterized in that the leading end side of the base material is divided into a plurality of areas and subjected to a heat treatment by changing the heat treatment temperature and the time conditions in units of the areas so that the flexibility of the base material is sequentially increased from the proximal to distal end portions of the leading end side.

摘要： A catheter equipped with an expansible member for expanding a constricted portion inside a blood vessel, comprises an inner tube having a first lumen whose tip is open; an outer tube disposing coaxially with the inner tube, having the tip thereof at a position recessed by a predetermined length from the tip of the inner tube and forming a second lumen between it and the outer surface of the inner tube; a contractible or foldable expansible member having the tip portion fitted to the inner tube and the proximal portion fitted to the outer tube, and communicating with the second lumen near the proximal portion; a first opening communicating with the first lumen disposed at the proximal portion of the inner tube; a second opening communicating with the second lumen disposed at the proximal portion of the outer tube; and a rigidity imparting member disposed in at least one of the inner and outer tubes so as to extend in an axial direction. A method of production of an expansible member for use in a catheter equipped with an expansible member, comprises a step of forming a thermoplastic resin tube and heating an expansible member forming portion of this tube; a step of disposing the heated expansible member forming portion of the tube in an expansible member molding die the inner surface of which is formed in a shape obtainable when the expansible member is inflated; a step of bringing the heated expansible member forming portion of the tube disposed in the expansible member molding die into close contact with the inner surface of the molding die by pressurizing the inside of the tube; a step of cooling the expansible member forming portion of the tube; a step of removing the expansible member molding die from the tube; and a step of cutting the molded expansible member forming portion off the tube.

摘要： A rotary head drum for a video tape recorder includes a stationary lower drum member having a base portion and inner and outer cylindrical portions extending generally upwardly from the base portion to define an internal cavity therebetween. A rotary assembly is rotatably mounted on a rotor shaft coaxial with the lower drum member and has at least one rotary magnetic head mounted thereto for recording digital signals on and reproducing the signals from a magnetic tape wrapped about the drum. A motor for driving the rotary heads, a rotation detector or tach generator for detecting the rotation of the motor, and a multi-channel rotary transformer for transferring digital signals to and from the rotary head are all housed in the cylindrical internal cavity surrounded by the base portion, and inner and outer cylindrical portions of the lower drum member which thereby reduces the overall axial height of the video tape recorder.
